It’s not every day that you get to see the founders of a company you are interning for. Sometimes they are already sixfeet under the ground or just too hidden in their guarded offices that you can only see them on special occasions We are lucky enough that we got to meet and had short conversation with them before our internship ended.

Formed in May 2010 headed by Roman Felipe S. Reyes as Chairman and Protacio T. Tacandong as Chief Operating Officer, the firm has been referred to as the Philippines’ fastest-growing professional services firm.

We met the letters R and T in RT&Co Mr Roman Felipe S Reyes (RFR), the Firm’s Chairman, and Mr Protacio T Tacandong (PTT), the Firm’s Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer

We heard so much about their visionary ideas as their Company pivots on a more tech-driven future Mr RFR told us that we are already obsolete graduates when time comes The rapid advancement of technology made our current skills obsolete for the market We should not be afraid but be motivated by these advancements The future is exciting. Accountants should be multifaceted in the future, and not just pursue lawyering after accountancy school We can also be engineers who can code and help create repetitive accounting tasks streamlined. In his words, “We should continue to retool ourselves ”

We also got the chance to ask them what they are currently doing now to prepare for that future especially with the advancement of AI technology. The company has employed over 60 IT individuals who will help the company catch up with the technology They were approachable, grounded, and eager to interact with us all We even got a 0.5 Gen-Z selfie with them
