As a writer, words have always been my music. With each poster concept, I found myself locked onto a word or phrase. Vibrations. Path. Future. I tried to find the music in each one and the visual harmony accompanying them. They drew pictures in my mind and I let my hand graft them onto the screen.
Vibrations
One of my favorite people is my grandmother, a woman who has been deaf since birth. Sound is not the same for her as it is for me.
I hear the melody. She feels the vibrations.
Graduate
From the earliest point of my R&D for this project, I latched onto “YAO’s Tuition-Free Approach.” I wanted to encapsulate what Yunior said was the YAO’s greatest achievement: The success and education of its students.
Path to Success
I liked the idea of music being a path to success. This let me play with some familiar imagery in a different way.
This was an accident. I was playing with fonts and accidentally hit the “x” key. It looked pretty cool and it hit me that X is the roman numeral for 10.
I just wanted to see where this idea took me.

I know I turn my favorite songs all the way up. YAO needs to turn it up to TEN this year!
