Can you believe it is already March!

This year is flying by, with each new month we are getting closer and closer to finally completing what feels to be a never-ending development.

We welcomed some wonderful achievements in February, with the handover of the new consult room, office, CEO office (temp reception), our new courtyard completed and Care Manager Kate Billing returning full time from maternity leave!

The entrance has finally started and we are looking forward to seeing the end result.

Residents have enjoyed walking through the new areas, especially our newest courtyard.

Issue 7, March, 2022

Visiting Currently, we are allowing 2 visits per resident per day, entry is between 9 AM - 4 PM Weekdays and 10 AM - 2 PM Weekends.

Visitors must provide and conduct a RA test upon arrival.

Residents are still able to leave the facility so long as they follow community guidelines.

Looplearn We are excited to announce that shortly we will be implementing a brand new visitor and staff check-in system.

Looplearn has been developed specifically with aged care in mind. Our new kiosk will be fully equipped with Temperature sensors, Face Recognition, Document management and more.

This should provide a more efficient sign in procedure.

ST Patricks Day We are looking forward to seeing what our Leisure and Wellbeing team have in store this year!

Fundraising Trivia Night We are getting excited, our first event back since COVID ended most events.

This event is open to all members of the public and Carinya. We will be holding this event at the Kongwak Hall on Saturday 26th March 2022 at 7PM.

Light supper, tea and coffee will be provided and BYO drinks and snacks.

This year our hosts are the amazing Rhonda and Cameron Nisbet.

Not only will you have a fun night out, but there are also some amazing prizes to be won! 1st place is 10 Vouchers to the Austral Pub. We also have a list of prizes to be raffled and auctioned off, including $500 Hartley Wells Voucher, Fire pit, AFL Members area seat tickets x 4, Webber Baby Q, Lawn and Garden Care package and much more valued at over $4,500.

What a Transformation After many months of weather, lockdowns and restrictions our courtyard has finally finished!

The courtyard adjoining Greenhills Dining area has turned out brilliant, we are looking forward to watching the plants and trees establish themselves and offer residents, families and friends a place to retreat.

If there are any keen gardeners on hand that would like to volunteer their time looking after the courtyard please contact sarah@carinyalodge.com.au

Development Last week we were handed over the new consult room, office and CEO office. In return, we have had to move out of the existing admin/reception area to allow the completion of the entrance and Boardroom.

Our builders have not wasted any time pulling down walls and ceilings, it is hard to believe we were all working here last week. We are expecting this stage to finish in May, COVID depending

Hopefully, we should have news on the new car park soon.

My Aged Care My Aged Care is the starting point to access Australian Government-funded aged care services.

The phone line and website can help older Australians, their families and carers to get the help and support they need.

My Aged Care provides: information on the different types of aged care services available an assessment of needs to identify eligibility and the right type of care referrals and support to find service providers that can meet your needs information on what you might need to pay towards the cost of your care.

Retirement Village New Units

There has been more progress with the new units. There are four units being built, 2 are three bedrooms and 2 are two bedrooms.

We are looking forward to watching them come together.

The progress of the rotunda is still ongoing and hopefully, we should have more information soon.

Leave it at the Race track We have had a few reports of vehicles driving at an unacceptable speed within Carinya Crescent and Farrell Drive.

Please remember and remind visitors and family that the speed limit throughout Carinya is 15KM, there have been reports of pedestrians almost being hit and this is not okay.

We really appreciate your help in making Carinya safe.
