Important: If families wish to take residents out for Christmas celebrations it is important to let care/admin know, so we can have our residents ready for the day.

Issue 4, December, 2021

Visiting Restrictions are still as follows; 5 visitors per resident per day (including dependants), visitors must be fully vaccinated and show proof via MYGOV or Medicare Certificate when requested.

No use of indoor common areas, for visits (Courtyards and back deck is fine). Masks are to be worn at

all times, no exceptions!

Trivia Another successful Trivia was held on the 15th of November.

The "Annilhilators" won again this month Congratulations Glenda, Joy, Janine, Esma, Thelma and Maisie!

Thank you to all the volunteers that came to help and a special shoutout to Rhonda who largely organises and runs our trivia afternoons!

Oaks Day Oaks Day must be one of our favourite times of the year, not just for the ladies but the gents as well.

We celebrated the day in style with a beautiful Chicken and Champagne luncheon prepared carefully by our amazing Kitchen team.

The Dining room was tastefully decorated by our wonderful lifestyle team.

Volunteering Carinya is calling for volunteers who would like to contribute their time to make a meaningful new friendship. Volunteers will be buddied up with a resident wanting to participate and share similar interests.

Volunteers ideally would meet at Carinya for a chat or if able take a resident out for coffee.

Fundraising After so much time off due to COVID , the fundraising sub committee is finally meeting on the 1st December 2021 at 7.30PM.

There have been a couple of exciting suggestions for the future that we will be discussing and open to more! If you would like to come along please email your interest to sarah@carinyalodge.com.au

Farewell With sad news, we farewell three of our loved residents and extend our sympathies to families and friends.

May you take comfort in memories and the friends and family that surround you. May the pain you feel now be nothing compared to the joy found within the memories of Rosalind, Brian and George.

Our deepest condolences for your loss.

Visitors & COVID Vaccination When visiting Carinya it is an expectation that visitors are fully vaccinated. All visitors must QR code upon entry and sign in via the Ipad at reception.

Visitors must provide proof of vaccination when requested and as part of signing in you declare that you are vaccinated.

Development We have a few development sites at the moment. One is our new Farrell drive car park and road adjoining.

The car park has been built in preparation for a long-awaited rotunda and parkland area which will be available for Residents, Retirement Village and the Community.

Retirement Village Working Bee Recently a volunteer group held a working bee especially for a general clean up of the proposed parkland area.

The men did a great job trimming branches and clearing long grass.

Thank you s much for your help and we hope you enjoyed your lunch.

The "Hub" is back!

Unit 5 Carinya Crescent will be reopened as a meeting place for unit residents. The Hub will be open two days a week to start with Tuesday and Thursday, 10 am – 12 pm for morning coffees commencing 7th December 2021. (Not including Public Holidays) If you are interested in playing cards, we may be able to have a card-playing group or other group activities. A library is available for book exchange Please let Lyn know of any further ideas.

Merry Christmas This year has been a tough year and Covid restrictions have not been pleasant for any of us. We got through and I am looking forward to the New Year as many Independent Living Unit residents are.

Personally, I would like to thank you for your understanding, support and I am looking forward to seeing a lot more of you this year. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year all the best for 2022 to you all.
