CAREFEST B Y C A R I N G A C R O S S G E N E RATION S
We’re glad you’re here. In America, we have cared for ourselves and each other in quiet isolation. We have figured out how to show up for our loved ones while risking our livelihoods without paid leave, we have protected the well-being of our children while knowing the budget numbers wouldn’t add up at the end of the month, and we have made impossible choices between caring for mom and dad while juggling work and everything else. Each of you in your own way refused to accept this as our reality and pushed for change in our workplaces, our institutions, our culture, and in our policy, even when no one was listening. Then, COVID took us collectively to a new level of isolation and broke open the chance at a new day for care in America. We are here at CareFest to manifest that new day and chart the path toward reaching it. Over the next two days, you will meet people you have never met but who feel like family because they are advocates like you in another context. You will reconnect with old friends who have shared this journey. You will welcome newcomers whose own care stories brought them here. You will be reminded over and over – by caregivers and people who rely upon care – why care must be a priority. Most of all, you will be moved by the power that we’ve built together. This is our moment. Congratulations on helping us get here. And thank you for being a part of how we win the future. From all of us at Caring Across Generations, welcome.
With care,
Ai-jen Poo Co-Founder and Executive Director, Caring Across Generations

With care, The team at Caring Across Generations
Care Can’t Wait. Care Can’t Wait is the coming together of Caring Across Generations and our national partner organizations to elevate care as a top economic priority in America. Since 2020, we have advocated for bold investments in our care infrastructure and expanded programs that provide caregivers, children, older adults, disabled people and our families access to home and community-based services for long-term care, paid family and medical leave, and affordable, quality child care, including investments in a strong care workforce. Our advocacy has helped catalyze generational progress on the care agenda, and we’re just getting started.
