Last week Ryley’s Reum family were honoured and recognized for their 100 years of contribution to family farming. The Alberta Century Farm and Ranch Award was presented by MLA Jackie Lovely at their farm. “Presenting the award
to the Reum family was an honour for me,” said MLA Jackie Lovely. “It’s a significant part of my role; it takes multiple generations of hard work and family commitment to achieve this award, and having grown up on the family farm myself – with now our fifth generation working the land together – these are particularly important mo-
ments for me. “As the MLA I go to great lengths to personally deliver each Century award and have a small presentation and celebration with the family. Therefore, gathering everyone together and paying tribute to the years of hard work that led to this acknowledgement is very special. I look forward to present-
ing more of these milestones in our community!” Speaking to the occasion, Lois Reum (sister of David Reum who now makes the third generation ownership of the farm and currently resides and operates it) said, “This Century Farm award means more to those of us that were born Continued on Page 14
