Every year, the Tofield Legion hosts the Remembrance Day ceremonies, but with social distancing in place, this Thursday, Nov. 11, there were two services, one outdoor at the Cenotaph, and one indoor at the Tofield Community Hall. The outdoor service

commenced with a welcome by Legion President Barb Ferguson, followed by the singing of ‘O Canada’. Ferguson read out the Act of Remembrance: ‘They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning we will remember them.’

Wreaths were laid for the Legion and Armed Forces, followed by another short statment and remarks by Ferguson. The service ended with a short prayer by Chaplain Dan Hillyer. Despite the biting cold that morning residents and community members were in attendance at the outdoor ceremony. For more pictures go to Page 9.
