‘Model’ Tofield, Ryley & Beaver County West named 2021 RhPAP Rhapsody Community Award recipient MOUSH JOHN Editor
The Community Attraction & Retention Committee (CARC) for Tofield, Ryley and Beaver County West is the recipient of the 2021 RhPAP Rhapsody Community Award, and has been recognized for its focus on community partnerships and collaboration. According to a statement by Rural Health Professions Action Plan (RhPAP), following a review of the outstanding candidates nominated this year, the RhPAP Board of Directors has endorsed the CARC as the 2021 recipient of the Rhapsody Community Award. The Rhapsody Community Award recognizes a rural Alberta community that has developed innovative and collaborative approaches to successfully attract and retain health-care
providers in its area. “It is an honour for our Committee to be awarded the Rhapsody Award for Community Partnerships and Collaboration that we have built and acted upon since its inception just four short years ago,” said Cyndy Heslin, CARC Chair. “As chairperson, I have fondly called this Committee of hardworking volunteers our ‘Dream Team’! We dream ways to recognize health care professionals from many walks of life and then make it happen, even during a pandemic. “As our very involved Vice Chair, Councillor Brenda Chehade says, “let’s not think outside the box, let’s just get rid of the darn box!” That is exactly what this Committee has done and done well.” Heslin added that they look forward to new and amazing opportunities to continue their work of attracting and retaining
