Lindbrook Shop targeted again by police What’s Owner says she fears for her life; Tofield RCMP declines to comment MOUSH JOHN Editor

An ensuing battle between Lindbrook Shop owner and the Tofield RCMP continue to get the attention of Tofield and area residents. In a more dramatic development on Wednesday, June 9, the Tofield RCMP arrested the shop owner, Hemla Wilson and her older son Logan Wilson in one incident, while the younger son Phillip Wilson was arrested from the Lindbrook Shop in a separate incident. “We were on Rge. Rd 200 when we saw two unmarked RCMP trucks coming straight toward us,” Wilson said. “We recognized the driver of one of the vehicles as Sgt. Lee Knelsen, who is the incharge of the Tofield detachment here in town. He used his vehicle to ram into us forcing our truck with us still in it into the garage of a property on that dirt road. “He struck the driver side of the truck where my son was, and drew their weapons, and

pointed their guns at our heads and told us to put our hands up. I believe that this was an attempt on my son’s life as well as mine.” According to Wilson, the next thing she knew was that a masked man dressed up in a costume and holding armour had bashed the passenger side window of the truck. She said she was manhandled and yanked out, thrown up against the garage with her arms up, got patted down, and her arms were yanked behind her back and cuffed tightly. “I asked him for some water, and he refused to give us any,” she continued. “While I was in a state of shock and extreme duress, he was reading out a document, of which I made no sense at the time. I just needed to know what were the charges on which we were being arrested and treated this way.” While Wilson was taken in one car, her son Logan was taken in the other to Sherwood Park “prison”.

Lee Knelsen was reached out to comment and speak to this incident, especially to the fact as to why Wilson felt “unnecessary and excessive force had been used and had been ambushed” he said, “I have no comment in regards to these allegations. I will leave our media release to disclose our response.” The media release, which was provided was a summation of charges, titled ‘Tofield RCMP charge three related to ongoing non-compliance

with public health orders’. The release stated that on June 7, 2021, the RCMP had located Hemla Wilson while she was operating a motor vehicle and attempted a traffic stop; however, she failed to stop for police. It further went on to say that on June 9, 2021, Tofield RCMP, along with the assistance of the Alberta RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, coordinated a planned arrest of Hemla, Phillip and Logan Wilson on their outstanding warrants and charges.
