It was a devastating fire that started on Friday afternoon, Aug. 13 on a hay field on Hwy. 630 destroying approxiately five acres. Around 12:32 p.m., a 911 call was made report-
ing a running fire in a field/brush. “We sent our ‘first alarm’ crew designation of three brush trucks; three water tankers; one fire truck; one incident commander; and one ambulance,” said Devin Capcara, Deputy Chief Operations of Strathcona
County Emergency Services. “Our crews arrived and found approximately two to three acres of field and brush on fire with one structure threatened. “The crews initiated an offensive attack and called for more resources.
