Terry Fox Run in Irma Patricia Harcourt Editor
It was a beautiful fall day last Thursday, September 29 when Irma School and the community came out for the annual Terry Fox Run. The run is held starting at the school and makes its way east past the golf course, then north for about a mile before turning around and coming back to the school. All the while, participants were able to enjoy the fall countryside with leaves turning colour and Canada
Geese flying overhead, honking as they passed in the skies above. The Terry Fox Run is a grand tradition at the school and community members always turn out as well to help with the cause of raising funds to fight cancer and help those afflicted with the disease. Sometimes the run has been held with snowflakes falling as early winter conditions took hold, but this year everyone lucked out as temperatures cooperated to make conditions perfect for students and community participants alike.
