Flagstaff County now has 15 active COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday, Nov. 24, putting them into an Enhanced Status by the Province. Providence Place in Daysland received notice on Friday, Nov. 13, of a COVID positive test from a resident. Mark Dixon from Connecting Care says, “We did an assessment immediately and we were confident that exposure to the balance of the community had been minimized. “We started to work closely with AHS on next steps which included swabbing of all residents and care partners.” Dixon adds, “A second round of resident testing was completed; all swabs have been negative. “All Providence Place residents remain confined to their suites. Continuous masking and heightened hand sanitizer/washing is being strongly encouraged for residents. “If residents and families have specific questions, they can reach out to Jay Adams directly.” Forestburg School has also reported cases, see the Battle River School Division report for more information. A number of local facilities have temporarily closed, including the Forestburg Multiplex/Arena; Sedgewick Good as New, to name a few. Alliance has cancelled its Santa Daze event, and Christmas Markets in Heisler and Daysland are both cancelled. Some municipal offices have returned to restrictions, check before setting out to make sure the office is open and receiving in-person visitors before you set out.
