Mundare to the rescue Emergency crew de-escalates dangerous situation

Tanker flips near Mundare on Highway 15 spilling crude oil BY JOHN MATHER A tanker transport truck carrying a load of crude oil, flipped on Highway 15 near Township Road 540 near Mundare, July 5, spilling some of its load.
The Mundare Fire and Emergency Rescue Department responded and were quickly able to stop the spill with less than 100 litres escaping the tanker, said Fire Chief Glenda Dales. “No product made contact with any
water,” she added. Highway 15 was closed down for much of the day with only one lane opened for traffic. The scene, she added, was released to an emergency and hazardous
response team around 5 p.m. July 5 with clean up continuing well into the night.
