RCMP called to investigate burning vehicle suspected to have been used in oil lease site theft Killam RCMP occurrences from Dec. 21 to Jan. 4 December 21 A stolen truck was reported from Alliance. No surveillance or witnesses. Damage and stolen wire were reported from an oil lease site. No witnesses or suspects. A suspicious vehicle/person was reported stopping at a rural residence. Complainant had also heard from neighbours that the vehicle was also seen. A male had got out of the vehicle and walked around the residence. A traffic stop was made on the Subject Vehicle. Subjects were from a religious organization going door to door. A suspicious vehicle was reported at the end of a driveway near Amisk. Complainant suspected the driver may be intoxicated. Members attended. Vehicle not located. December 22 Killam Members were asked to assist Camrose Police with a possible intoxicated driver heading to Daysland. Members made patrols and the vehicle was not located. A report was made of a Subject throwing a jerry can of gasoline at a house in Forestburg. Subject threw the can and confronted the Complainant and other witnesses at the residence. File is still under investigation. A BOLO from Saskatchewan RCMP regarding a stolen truck believed to heading to the Sedgewick area. Members patrolled Sedgewick and surrounding areas.
Vehicle not located. A suspected gift card fraud was reported in Sedgewick. The Complainant was concerned about a customer buying numerous Apple gift cards for “security” purposes. The customer was contacted and advised it was a scam. December 23 A burned-out vehicle was reported on Township Road 422. The Vehicle was towed. Auto Theft attended and VIN was verified. No witnesses or suspects. December 24 Approximately 100 litres of fuel was stolen from a slip tank in Daysland. No witnesses or suspects. A report was made of an erratic driver on Highway 855. The Vehicle had gone through a stop sign travelling towards Daysland. Patrols were made and vehicle not found. December 25 A black Dodge dually was reported travelling east on Highway 603, with an orange tarp covering stolen cable. Patrols were made and the vehicle was not located. A shop yard was broken into in Daysland. The lock was cut but nothing was stolen. A few days later it was reported gas and a fuel pump was stolen. Crime prevention strategies provided. No witnesses or suspects. December 26 A suspicious vehicle was reported in a pasture off Township Road 410. The Subjects had been burning
wire. No suspect descriptions were available. Complainant was advised to call the next time when it was happening. No witnesses or suspects. This truck was later connected to a call where the truck was seen hauling wire. A Member was called out and located the Subject Vehicle. Subjects fled and were not apprehended. Multiple tools recovered. No ID on the Subject. December 27 Numerous reports were made of a suspicious female walking around Forestburg. Subject was looking at residences. A Member attended and patrols were made. A curfew check was done on an individual who matched the description. Subject was home. Damages were reported to an abandoned oil lease site. Power poles were taken down and wire stolen. No witnesses or suspects. A report of uttering threats was made in Forestburg. The Complainant’s daughter was receiving threatening calls over a three-week period. The Subject was known to the Complainant and her daughter. Subject was charged, arrested and released with conditions. December 28 A suspicious vehicle/person was reported at a hotel in Daysland. Members attended and spoke with the Subject and he was working in town. December 29 A trailer was reported stolen from a Continued on Page 8
