Viking hosts Family Day activities at Carena Patricia Harcourt Editor

Families crowded into the Viking Carena Complex Monday, Feb. 19 for Family Day celebrations. The day included sunshine and moderate temperatures to help promote hours of fun activities. The Viking Lions offered free hot dogs and hot chocolate, which was a great success. And the Viking

Carena Kitchen was also open for hungry patrons to enjoy a variety of menu choices. Viking/Beaver FCSS offered tattoo and glitter art for the youngsters and they flocked to the booth to join in the fun. Mugsy the entertainer performed magic tricks, juggled and created balloon animals for an excited crowd of kids. And always a favourite was the free family skating

in the rink. The play centre on the upper level of the rink was also open and well used for the occasion. Outside, an old-fashioned covered wagon carried passengers on a ride around town in the beautiful weather. Wallboards full of art works were on display inside the Carena lobby for the popular colouring contest, which promised some great prizes for the winners.
