Tomushat added that although he would like to fix all the sidewalks in town, budgets indicate a need to plan projects carefully.

“This year we had to focus on tripping hazards,” he said. “I work carefully with Patty (Podoborozny) to plan these projects so there is enough funding for them.”

In terms of Bell’s sidewalk, Tomushchat could not comment on why it hasn’t been fixed before now.

“I can’t comment on what has or hasn’t been done to maintain the town’s infrastructure over the past half century, but I can say that today we are doing everything we can and learning more every year,” he said. “We want to ensure sustainability and longevity in this town for years to come.”

In addition, Tomushat feels that major steps have been taken in repairing and maintaining the current infrastructure.

“Our council has been amazing in helping me and Patty to get these jobs done and keep the town in a good position,” said Tomushcat. “They have shown interest in the issues and interacted with me in finding solutions.”

The family of Henry Field would like to thank everyone for all of the love, kindness, and support we received by your phone calls, cards, flowers, food, visits, and all the help we received on the day of Hank’s final ride and at the memorial service and donations made in memory of Hank. A heartfelt thank you to his numerous family and friends who lined the street as Hank made his final journey down Main Street of Bruce and to the pallbearers and honorary pallbearers who walked with him. Heartfelt appreciation to Pastor Alvin Sorenson for his kind words and Viking Funeral Services for their compassion during this difficult time.
