Rings in 100 years for Ag Society

RCMP experiencing high call volume during summer Leslie Cholowsky Editor with files from Cpl. Trent Cleveland Acting C/O Killam Detachment Members of the Killam RCMP responded to 135 occurrences between July 15 and July 31. Police responded to a report of a 53-yr-old male from Flagstaff County Assaulted a 40-yr-old male from Flagstaff County. A member attended and resolved the conflict between the two males without having to lay charges. (The victim did not want to pursue charges.) Related to the assault, a complaint of a person being unlawfully in a dwelling - a 53-yr-old male from Flagstaff County entered his landlord's residence without permission. The 53-yr-old was evicted from the property and police determined that the matter is a landlord-tenant issue. Members attended to keep the peace; the victim did not want to pursue charges. Rodney Lloyd, 53, from Flagstaff County, was arrested and charged for breaking into a residence in Galahad. Upon arresting Lloyd, he was found to be in
possession of a controlled substance and charged under the criminal code. First appearance in court is scheduled for Sept. 1 in Camrose. Members attended a complaint in Galahad about a 63-yr-old male shooting unwanted animals on his property with a pellet gun. Members attended and warned the male that if he is doing so, he will be charged under the criminal code for causing animals unnecessary suffering. Members seized the pellet gun from the male on a separate file. Killam RCMP responded to a call of a male in Galahad pointing a firearm at a youth for dirt biking. Members attended and located the 63-yr-old male from Galahad. The firearm was a pellet gun and was seized. The male was charged with pointing a firearm (Sec. 87(2) CC). The individual will appear in court Sept. 1 in Camrose. Members were responding to an abandoned motor vehicle and located Broden Dunning, 29, from Edmonton, who had a number of warrants for his arrest. Members arrested Dunning, executing the warrants and charging Dunning with Failing to Comply with his
release order. A bail hearing was held and Dunning was remanded into custody. Dunning has already attended court and pled guilty. Killam RCMP received complaint that a 78-yr-old male from Daysland was not quarantining despite an immediate family member being positive w/COVID. Members issued a formal warning, and advised he will be ticketed if he continues to break quarantine. Members educated the male on the seriousness and requirements of following Canada and Alberta Health Recommendations. Killam RCMP assisted Camrose RCMP with locating and arresting a 35-yr-old male from Saskatchewan for theft of a motor vehicle. Killam members assisted Tofield with locating and arresting a 35-yr-old male from Saskatchewan for mischief under $5,000. Members received a call in Amisk about an unknown male that threatened the complainant. The complainant did not want charges and reported for information purposes. The male was not identified.
