Philip S W Goldson Highway and Remate Bypass Upgrading

This project will make major upgrades to 125 km of the key arterial route linking Belize City to the Mexican border, along the Philip S.W. Goldson Highway and the Remate Bypass. The project will enhance connectivity, efficiency, accessibility and resilience of the road transportation network in Belize and improve road safety for users.The works include pavement upgrades, road realignments, junction improvements, culvert construction and replacement, and installation of sidewalks, bus shelters, and pedestrian crossings.

This project has been made possible through a grant from the United Kingdom Government under the UK Caribbean Infrastructure Fund (UKCIF), which provides grant funding for climate-resilient infrastructure projects to encourage growth and to support improved livelihoods, poverty reduction and safer conditions for residents. UKCIF is administered by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).
