CAMARA MUSA

BACKGROUND

Musa Camara recently graduated from Lehigh University where he studied Africana Studies with a minor in Religion. He will be working full-time at Liberty Mutual Insurance in July, doing a rotational program centered around data analytics

FUTURE PLANS

Musa hopes to gain extensive experience within the fields of analytics and consulting, building a solid foundation of skills and knowledge that will enable him to excel in these areas. In addition to gaining practical experience, Musa is also committed to furthering his education. Over the next three years, Musa plans to pursue an MBA in Business Analytics. This advanced degree will enhance his understanding of complex analytical methods and business strategies, ultimately preparing him for leadership roles in the industry.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

In his free time, Musa enjoys playing basketball, exploring fashion, and traveling. He also loves listening to rap artists such as A Boogie, Kendrick Lamar, and Brent Faiyaz.

BACKGROUND

Kennedy Camp is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia where she earned her B S in Health Promotion and a Certificate in Strategic Health and Risk Communication Professionally, Kennedy gained valuable experience as an intern at Pfizer, where she contributed to several marketing projects in preparation for the launch of Velsipity This experience reinforced her passion for improving health outcomes within a corporate business setting Kennedy is deeply committed to reducing health disparities and is excited to pursue a career that allows her to serve others and make a meaningful impact in the field of health promotion

FUTURE PLANS

Kennedy aspires to work in marketing, communications, and community relations within a healthcare or pharmaceutical organization The Summer Business Academy (SBA) will allow her to further explore her interest in business and how it can be integrated with her passion for health equity This fall, Kennedy will return to the University of Georgia to pursue an MPH in Health Policy and Management as part of an accelerated 4+1 program

PERSONAL INTERESTS

Kennedy participated in a semester-long mentorship program, analyzing cases from tech startup companies. Her love for creativity led her to studying abroad in France and attending the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, where she learned from global thought leaders about integrating creativity into business practices. In her free time, Kennedy enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

CAMPBELL

BACKGROUND

Trinity Campbell is a rising Senior, pursuing a BS in Business Administration and a BA in Media Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, with an expected graduation in May 2025 In terms of professional experience, Trinity has demonstrated prowess as a Social Media Intern at Exceptional Community Connections, LLC, where she implemented a successful social media strategy, doubling follower counts on Instagram and LinkedIn Prior to this, Trinity served as Public Relations & Data Manager at the Black Recruitment & Retention Center, enhancing engagement through website redesigns, newsletters, and dynamic social media content Trinity's commitment extends beyond academia and work She co-founded the DAES Black Film Collective, assuming roles as Head of Public Relations and Head of Acting Department Through this initiative, Trinity recruits and nurtures talent, fosters community engagement, and amplifies black voices in the arts. Additionally, as Sergeant-At-Arms and Internal Audit Chair at Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Kappa Chapter, Trinity coordinates events, designs merchandise, and spearheads social media campaigns, consistently driving engagement upward, and handling finances in the sorority

FUTURE PLANS

Trinity's professional aspirations are to become an entrepreneur with her own business in the ARTS giving students the tools needed to succeed in any sector of the ARTS She would also like to go into Marketing and Public Relations and become an Actress SBA aligns with her goals because it gives her the professional development skills needed to succeed in any industry and the Business mindset to understand how things work and operate on a Business level.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

Trinity's personal interests are Acting and Dancing in her free time, as well as Graphic Design, creating different things for fun such as designing clothes, shoes, flyers, etc She shows these talents through various leadership positions throughout her college career in her sorority as Sergeant-at-arms and Internal Audit Chair to becoming the upcoming President, in her previous role as the PR and Data Manager for the Black Recruitment and Retention Center, in her role as Head of the Acting Department for DAES Black Film Collective and her CoWeb designer role in BareStage Productions.

DADSON KELLY

BACKGROUND

Kelly Dadson graduated from Hampton University in May 2024. During her time in college she was blessed with internship experience every year to set herself up, while buying knowledge about finance.

FUTURE PLANS

Kelly’s career goal is to work in wealth management for 3-5 years and then go back to a top tier school to get her MBA.

DEWAN SHERWIN

BACKGROUND

Sherwin Dewan is now a senior at NJIT, majoring in HumanComputer Interaction, and minoring in Data Analytics. She found INROADS through interning for UPS in the IT department for 2 summers, becoming interested in delving deeper into the Business sector. Sherwin is currently leading research at NJIT, investigating age bias in LLMs To study more about people and the economy, I she entered a social work course at Rutgers called the Global ILE (International Leadership Exchange) program studying about Tanzania and Zanzibar, completing missions in-field in late May, such as installing solar suitcases in Masaailand

FUTURE PLANS

Sherwin aims to become a confident leader with the right knowledge and be able to apply it She believes that JHU SBA will help her interpersonally within and outside of her career The program provides a unique blend of opportunities, such as hands-on projects, case training, and innovation field projects to hone these skills, bringing the potential to turn my weaknesses into strengths Because the program gives a glimpse of the full MBA program, she aspires to be a part of the first research university in the United States

PERSONAL INTERESTS

Growing up as a minority, Sherwin has had to work extra hard Even outside of her career, she wants to bring a change and be a leader for jer community through technology, learning about the people, and helping raise the voices. For this reason, she has vast experience in social work, IT, data analytics, and UX Design, taking Psychology and Business courses, committed to continuous improvement each day. Her goal is simple; she wants to bring value and change to this evolving environment, even if it is small.

Aidan DeWeever is a rising senior economics major at Virginia State University.

Allen is passionate about content creation, videography, photography, and other creative ventures within similar spaces Additionally, he enjoys listening to quality music and playing instruments such as the drums and piano However, he finds the most joy in spending quality time with family and friends. His leadership experiences at Morgan State University include serving as the President of the Morgan State NAACP from Spring 2023 to Spring 2024, where he led a chapter of over 500 members, fostering community engagement and advocating for social justice He also held the position of Social Media Chair for the Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi, managing the chapter's social media presence and enhancing communication and engagement Furthermore, as Vice President of Morgan State Club Volleyball, he assisted in organizing and leading the club, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.

DIXON ALLEN

BACKGROUND

Allen J. Dixon is a recent graduate of Morgan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. Born and raised in Maryland, he has gained diverse work experiences across various esteemed organizations He has worked with the NBA League Office, Washington Wizards, HP, Red Bull, and NBC Sports Notably, he was selected as part of the inaugural class of the NBA x HBCU Fellowship from among 2,700 applicants In this role, he served as a Partnerships Development Intern within the Marketing department at the NBA League Office in Manhattan, New York. During his tenure at HP, Inc. in Houston, Texas, he worked as a Marketing Operations Intern. He spearheaded innovation by researching advanced AI tools such as ChatGPT and presented strategies on how HP could harness artificial intelligence to enhance time and cost efficiency Additionally, he played a key role in a major social media project by establishing and managing HP’s Intern TikTok account, which garnered over 250k views within six weeks and achieved a 7.5% engagement rate, significantly surpassing the TikTok average. This accomplishment earned an award for the project. In addition to his professional pursuits, he is an active member of the NAACP and the Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated

FUTURE PLANS

Allen’s professional aspirations include working within the business and marketing sectors of sports, entertainment, or technology These industries are exceptionally dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative, which aligns with his passion for creativity and progress. In early 2024, he founded The Lighthouse Agency, a marketing firm specializing in social media, content creation, branding, and advertising, utilizing a Gen-Z and modern-day approach Just as a lighthouse guides ships to their destinations safely, The Lighthouse Agency aims to assist businesses and entrepreneurs in achieving their goals The Johns Hopkins Summer Business Academy (SBA) aligns perfectly with his professional goals by providing comprehensive education in various aspects of the business world, including consulting, human resources, and marketing. The SBA offers an invaluable opportunity to network with peers and connect with successful professionals in the business community, fostering quality relationships that can support his career growth Additionally, the SBA serves as a stepping stone towards furthering his education, with the potential of pursuing an MBA at the Carey School of Business This advanced education would equip him with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the business world and propel his career forward.

DOMINGUEZ STEPHANIE

BACKGROUND

Stephanie graduated in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies, focusing on Identity, Race, and Ethnicity, achieving an impressive GPA of 3.8. Her academic journey was marked by her placement on the Dean's List three times, reflecting her dedication and intellectual rigor. Her relevant coursework included Computer Science for Data Analysis, Micro and Macro Economics, and Anthropology of Economics. Stephanie also engaged in independent research through several capstone projects on topics such as Ecofeminism in Chile and Environmentalism in Zanzibar. Her most recent research, a senior thesis, explored the digital divide and the impact of technological advancements on economic, educational, and social equity in American society.

FUTURE PLANS

In terms of practical experience, Stephanie honed her analytical and problem-solving skills during her internship at Beats by Dre as a Business Analytics & Brand Strategy Intern Her technological proficiency extends to UX/UI design, Project Management, and Python programming Aspiring to create spaces for creativity, inclusivity, and advocacy for marginalized communities, Stephanie aligns with SBA's goals of challenging existing power structures and fostering tangible change

Additionally, she co-hosted an anti-racism podcast called ‘Scratch That Ignorance Isn’t Bliss,’ dedicated to dismantling white supremacy on college campuses, and has worked as a learning strategies tutor, supporting first-generation and international college students.

DUFFIN, III MORISE

BACKGROUND

A native of Louisiana, Morise “Trey” Duffin, III has always been fascinated by the world of healthcare not only by the individuals who wear white coats and scrubs but also by the ones who wear suits and work in the C-suites This led him to attend Xavier University of Louisiana to pursue a double major in healthcare management and public health sciences to gain knowledge in leadership, business, research, and more Xavier is known to produce Black Excellence and Morise is a primary example During his time at Xavier, he has been a consecutive member of the College of Arts and Sciences Dean's list, has held multiple leadership positions, has been involved in various organizations, and has had opportunities through internships to gain real-world experience. These experiences include being a two-time intern at Ochsner Health, the largest healthcare system in the state of Louisiana, working in departments such as Community Health and Community & Public Affairs.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

During his time at Xavier University of Louisiana, Morise has held various positions including Vice President and then President of Xavier’s Mental Health Coalition, Co-Vice President and Treasurer of the Public Health Student Organization, three-time new student orientation leader (aka Peer Dean Association), and Admissions Committee Chair of the inaugural NOLA Collegiate Public Health Conference

FUTURE PLANS

From a young age, Morise was always taught that “Leaders are not born but created.” Through this philosophy, he knew that he wanted to be a leader and to make a lasting impact in this world whether his efforts were big or small With his passion for healthcare, he aspires to become a healthcare administrator and an advocate for addressing health disparities within communities of color By attending the Johns Hopkins University Summer Business Academy, he was able to further grow and develop his leadership and critical thinking skills to help him pursue his goal of becoming a revolutionary leader in the realm of healthcare.

FAISON TYLER

BACKGROUND

Tyler Faison recently graduated from Hampton University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration During his undergraduate time, he was involved in multiple organizations on campus, such as Omega Psi Phi (Fraternity), the Leadership Application Program (LAP), and the National Black MBA Association (NBMA). He developed his leadership skills by organizing fundraiser events and guiding meetings and presentations. He shows a passion for the world of finance, having worked as a financial advisor intern at Peake Financial Group

FORD JADE

BACKGROUND

Jade is a recent graduate of Hampton University who obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Currently serving as a Program & Management Analyst Graduate Intern with the Government Accountability Office, Jade specializes in budget management, government purchase card transactions, financial system processing, and government contracting. Previous experience in the government has additionally provided Jade with experience in project coordination and development of government training. Additionally Jade has been offered a full time summer position with the Environmental Protection Agency to be involved in the pathways program. Jade has received recognition as an intern and represented Hampton University at the Government Accountability Office HBCU Day and HBCU recruitment at her alumna.

FUTURE PLANS

Jade plans to apply her Summer Business Academy learnings as a Fall 2024 incoming Master of Business Administration student Following the completion of her Master of Business Administration program, Jade plans to begin law school In the midst of Jade’s many endeavors she additionally plans to begin her path to entrepreneurship

PERSONAL INTERESTS

Beyond her professional achievements, Jade is an advocate for self wellness and health. Her numerous hobbies include jogging, pilates, traveling and trying any new food place. When not outside or at the movie theater Jade strongly values her time spent with family. Jade has also has experience in leading her honors fraternity Phi Epsilon Kappa in events and competitions. Jade has served as Miss Phi Epsilon Kappa and a member of Women’s Caucus on campus. Her personal involvement and leadership positions have greatly impacted her throughout college.

FORD TYASHA

BACKGROUND

Tyasha is from a small island in South Carolina called Wadmalaw Island and has always had big dreams. At her previous institution, she began on the pre-med track, but three years in, she realized that she did not enjoy what she was learning nor did she want to become a doctor. Following this realization, she began her entrepreneurship journey by starting her small beauty business in 2021 called Opulent Reflections, and through that venture, she realized that she had a lot to learn. This is when she enrolled in Morgan State University and began her journey into the world of business and finance. Although she was a liberal arts major, she took on various finance-related projects and extracurriculars such as the William & Mary Stock Pitch competition, the National Black MBA Undergraduate Case Competition, and the Investment Club. Through networking, keeping an open mind, unwavering curiosity, and a promise to herself that she would “put herself out there,” she has grown her network and gained transferable skills that will be valuable in her future endeavors.

FUTURE PLANS

Tyasha’s professional aspiration is to pursue her MBA in the future She believes that SBA aligns with her professional goals by helping to hone pertinent skills such as public speaking and critical thinking while heightening her professional awareness

Tyasha’a personal interests include traveling and learning about historical movements and time periods through art history. She has leadership experience through projects such as the Bloomberg Case Study, the William & Mary Stock Pitch competition, the MSU Finance TV, and through recruitment for the Investment Club.

HARRIS COREY

BACKGROUND

Corey Harris graduated in December 2023 with a bachelors of science in finance from Southern University and A&M College He has interned at Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, Adobe, ServiceNow, and PwC.

FUTURE PLANS

Corey wants to be a product manager, program manager, or product marketing within big tech and wants to dive deep into equity because he wants to help create equitable products for the world.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

Personally Corey is interested in bowling and sky diving. He really likes adrenaline rushing activities. In addition, he loves traveling to the point where he went to Hawaii twice. Leadership wise, he was the president of the National Association of Black accountants (NABA) at his school & was the project manager for the Enactus chapter as well

BACKGROUND

Marcus Harris is a recent graduate from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University w/ a B.S in Finance. Throughout his time at NC A&T he was able to be involved with a numerous amount of actives. In Spring 2022 he was initiated into the Mu Psi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. His proudest accomplishment was being able to serve as a mentor for upcoming college freshman's for two consecutive years. Another opportunity that helped shape his college experience was participating in the CFA Scholars Pitch Competition w/ Experian. With being selected as one of the finalist, he was able to travel to Costa Mesa, California where his team ended up winning $10,000. While on campus he was heavily involved with many organizations such as Exceptional Males in Business, Scholars of Finance, and Georgia Aggies where he served as chief of staff. During his senior year he was able to gain 10 months of professional experience interning with Berkley Medical Management Solutions. Even though he was a transfer student dealing with Covid, he was able to be heavily involved due to being able to network with others and branding himself correctly!

FUTURE PLANS

Marcus currently aspires to work as an Investment Analyst w/ an insurance company. On the other hand, he wants to continue his education and pursue an M.B.A, while also preparing himself to take the Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) certification. So joining the SBA will help him with getting comfortable on how a MBA program works, while also giving him valuable skills that can be used throughout his professional career!

Destiny Howell is an undergraduate student at Hunter College pursuing her Bachelors in Physics. She has a good tech background with practice of python and a wide range of physics research experiences.
