SAFETY CORNER-WORKING ON THE SAFE SIDE In recognition of NECA’s Safety Week earlier in May, we shared a series of emails containing safety messages and resources with the team—thank you to everyone who took the time to read, reflect, and engage and Montyce for preparing the content! To keep in the spirit of that week—and in line with our number one focus here at Carey: safety first, always—we’re spotlighting a valuable industry article featured in the May 2025 edition of Electrical Contractor magazine titled "Working on the Safe Side" by Tom O’Connor. This article highlights critical OSHA violations often seen on construction sites and provides proactive tips that every contractor and crew should take seriously
🔎 Key Takeaways from the Article:
Common Violations: Fall protection, hazard communication failures, improper ladder and aerial lift usage continue to top OSHA's most-cited list. Why It Matters: Even minor oversights can lead to serious injuries—or steep fines. In fact, willful or repeat violations can cost up to $165,514 each. How to Stay Ahead: Ongoing employee training, daily hazard assessments, and maintaining up-to-date safety documentation are essential for staying compliant and safe.
Take a few minutes to read this article—it’s a powerful reminder of why safety can’t ever be an afterthought. Read: Working on the Safe Side (ECMag.com)
