DATA BOOK 2025

5 YEARS AFTER

Every year Politecnico di Milano carries out an employment survey on graduates 5 years after degree completion in order to understand the value of the degree in the job market.

The 2025 survey analyze the employment situation of graduates who obtained their degree in 2019 at Politecnico di Milano.

The survey was carried out through mixed methodology (CAWI: online and CATI: phone).

The response rate to the questionnaire is defined as the ratio between the number of graduates who completed the survey and the total number of graduates who obtained their degree.

SAMPLE OF ITALIAN BACHELOR GRADUATES OF 2019

There are 1,435 Italian graduates with a Laurea (Bachelor) who chose not to continue their studies in 2019. Among them, 1,333 gave their consent, and 665 people answered the survey. The response rate was 50%.

SAMPLE OF ITALIAN MASTER GRADUATES OF 2019

There are 4,570 Italian graduates with a Laurea Magistrale (Master) in 2019. Among them, 3,956 gave their consent, and 1,880 people answered the survey.

The response rate was 48%.

SAMPLE OF INTERNATIONAL MASTER GRADUATES OF 2019

There are 1,782 international graduates with a Laurea Magistrale (Master) in 2019. Among them, 1,608 gave their consent, and 385 people answered the survey.

The response rate was 24%.

The survey was carried out at the beginning of 2025 through mixed methodology (CAWI: online and CATI: phone).

Graduates were asked to answer a multiple choice questionnaire of about 30 questions.

Five years after graduation, 99% of Italian MSc graduates are employed with a net monthly salary of € 2,404. Employment has increased by 3% in 4 years (96% were employed after 1 years) and salary has increasd by 55% in the same period (€ 1,549 net monthly salary after 1 year).

82% are employees and 90% have a permanent contract. In 4 years, the number of graduates with a stable contract has increased by 38%. 87% are employees in the private sector and 50% work for an SME. The Italian market remains the most relevant market, even 5 years after graduation (85% work in Italy)
