Alia was born in the Bhatt family in Mumbai on 15th March’93 and had a fairly grounded childhood, nothing like one would expect a famous film-maker’s daughter would have.

While growing up, Alia played the role of young Priety Zinta’s character in Sangharsh but she was so fond of food that when asked if she remembers anything about the shoot, she amusingly said, “I don’t remember much of the shoot. I would go to the sets only for the food”.

Fondly known as Aloo, her favorite food is Fish, Ragi Chips, French Fries, Rasgulla, DahiChawal, Moong Dal Halwa.

However, she turned vegetarian in 2015. Her favorite food-joint is Ellipsis in Mumbai.

Bhatt made her debut with Karan Johar’s teen drama, Student of the Year, alongside Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan.

Among 500 candidates, she was the one who got selected at the auditions after losing 16kgs.

Alia Bhatt has also signed an international project with Netflix recently opposite Wonder Wo­ man’s Gal Gadot and Jamie Dor­ nan from Fifty Shades of Grey. l
