AMA FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS TO IMPROVE HEALTH EQUITY
The new AMA Foundation President, Jacqueline A. Bello, MD, FACR, announced the creation of the DREAM MD Health Equity Scholarship (https://amafoundation.org/dream-md-equityscholarship/?bblinkid=232245044&bbemailid=22546217&bbejrid=1566594747), which will immediately award two $10,000 scholarships to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) medical students.
As President, she is dedicated to continuing the Foundation’s long-standing commitment to improving the public health and further build upon our recent accomplishments. In addition to awarding two DREAM MD Health Equity Scholarships, the Vandenberg Health Equity Fund (https://amafoundation.org/vandenberg-health-equity/?bblinkid=232245045&bbemailid=22546 217&bbejrid=1566594747) will award two David Jones Peck, MD Health Equity Scholarships to medical students demonstrating commitment to addressing health disparities and promoting health equity in diverse, economically disadvantaged urban environments.
