JULY EDITION, VOLUME 2018, NO. 7
2018 DOCTOR/DAUGHTER – A MAGICAL EVENING! By Emma Bryson, Event Volunteer and Dr. Tracey Hellgren’s Daughter 130 chocolate unicorns, in total, arranged in circles on all the tables, lay in wait to be eaten by ecstatic girls. 50 t-shirts and 20 pillowcases were folded neatly in wait, all ready to be painted uniquely by brilliant artists. Finally, one carriage sat in wait for its new, loving owner to take home after the raffle. On Thursday, June 7th, at 5:30pm, everything was ready for the daughters of the doctors of CMS to have an incredible evening. For every person that entered that night, a magical evening began. Unicorns, the national animal of Scotland and the mystical animal all girls would admit wanting at some point in their childhood, was the star of the show. With more than 120 people at this all-time favorite event, everyone got to indulge in their inner child, with enough unicorn horn headbands and beautiful face paint to turn normal girls into flawless unicorns. Following the unicorn theme, two activities quickly became fan favorites. The first being donuts, sponsored by
SunTrust Private Wealth Management! One of our local bakeries, SoDough, brought with them a yummy snack and a magical surprise! Every girl got to decorate their own donut to look like a beautiful unicorn, including fondant ears, the choice between a gold or silver horn, and plenty of sprinkles to go around! The second show-stopping activity was decorating t-shirts! Though the designer of these shirts didn’t jump towards the limelight, my father Brian Bryson, was behind the design of the shirts and roped my mom and me into helping him stamp the design onto every single shirt, spending over 9 hours in total to make the unicorn dream into a reality. And we loved every minute of it! 50 t-shirts and 20 pillowcases with stamped unicorns on the front were decorated with bright fabric paints and stamps that the attendees got to go home with after the event. In addition to these two activities, several sponsor tables were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Hancock Whitney graciously brought along with them lots of cute unicorn trinkets, with the ever popular Squishies being brought home by everyone. In addition, Hancock Whitney sponsored several raffle items, including a $40 Firefly Pottery gift certificate and a ginormous sprinkler with a giant blow-up unicorn head! Another sponsor, SunTrust CONTINUED ON PAGE 3
