Mia L. McKown, Partner; and

Eddie Williams III, Partner Physicians have been dealing with HIPAA for many years, but changes to federal regulations coming in October threaten to turn HIPAA on its head. Government regulatory efforts have focused in recent years on patient access to data. Doctors will need to make sure patients have virtually unfettered access to their electronic medical records. Eddie Williams, Mia McKown and Shannon Hartsfield, attorneys from Holland & Knight’s Tallahassee office, which this year celebrates 50 years of service in the Capital, plan to speak. They will focus on new developments in HIPAA including:

• What physicians need to know about medical records ownership in Florida • Recent HIPAA enforcement activity • Expanded 2022 prohibitions on information blocking • How physicians can implement “recognized security practices” to reduce risk

Registration Required Time: 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM No Cost for these virtual seminars.
