OUR GROUP

At City and Islington College, we want to enrich your life with more than just qualifications. We want you to develop the broader range of skills and qualities employers look for, including communication, teamwork and problem-solving, as well as having a great time.

Celebrate Together

Clubs and Societies

Get to know your fellow students through a range of student-run activities. Join the Students’ Association, the National Students’ Union and college clubs and societies – from football to Zumba! Why not join one of our sports teams and represent your college locally?

Current Affairs

Learn about and debate important topics with visiting experts, from human rights to genetics.

Supporting Others

Develop your teamwork skills and help others by becoming a student ambassador, study buddy or peer mentor, or by getting involved in campaigns such as Stand Up to Racism. Take part in volunteering and fundraising for local charities and organisations.

Join us to recognise and celebrate a range of college and public events, including our own Graduation ceremonies, Black History Month, International Women’s Day, Adult Learners’ Week and LGBT+ History Month.

Your Voice

We listen to and act on the views of our students. You are at the heart of what we do and we value your opinions. Every programme has an elected student representative and we regularly ask for students’ opinions through surveys, meetings with senior staff and college committees.

Cafes and Social Spaces

Our centres have on-site canteens and cafés, serving a daily menu that includes healthy options.

Canteen meals are great value for money and provide a great opportunity to relax with friends between lessons.
