Glassjaw is one of those band you would have a hard time putting a label on. Some pigeon-hole it as a post-hardcore band but they are, oh, so much more than that. Glasjaw was formed in 1993 in Long Island, New York, by vocalist Daryl Palumbo and guitarist Justin Beck. The band emerged from the New York hardcore scene and quickly gained recognition for their intense live performances. Prior to Glassjaw, Palumbo and Beck were longtime friends and had played together in other bands, including Sons of Abraham, a Jewish straight edge metalcore band The band's formation marked the beginning of their journey to becoming a prominent figure in the post-hardcore music scene

Glassjaw's musical style is a fusion of various genres, including post-hardcore, experimental rock, and neoprogressive Their sound has evolved over the years, showcasing their ability to integrate different influences and styles into their music. Known for their intense and energetic performances, Glassjaw has garnered a loyal fan base and critical acclaim for their unique blend of aggressive and melodic elements Their first two albums, "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence" (2000) and "Worship and Tribute" (2002), solidified their place in the post-hardcore and alternative metal genres. These albums showcased Glassjaw's ability to create powerful and emotionally charged music and put the band at the forefront of the scene. They had an immense influence on all the posthardcore bands coming after them

Glassjaw experienced initial success and recognition with the release of their debut album, "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence" in 2000. Produced by Ross Robinson, who had previously worked with major nu-metal bands, the album received positive reviews and established Glassjaw as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Their follow-up album, "Worship and Tribute" further solidified their reputation and showcased their growth as a band. Glassjaw's contributions to the post-hardcore genre and their unique musical style have made them a notable presence in the music industry and one of the most influential bands.

After releasing the first two albums the band went on hiatus, only to return a few years later with a new line-up and some new music. They played extensively across Us and Europe and finally in 2017 they’ve released their 12track album “Material Control”.
