Closure concerns
The federal government says it would likely allow Cape York and Torres Strait communities to be closed off to the outside world if local vaccination rates don’t increase. As the nation strives for an 80 per cent uptake before opening up, there are concerns that lower vaccination rates in our Indigenous communities could leave vulnerable residents exposed.
