CAPELLA CURATES PRESERVED IN SONGWAT Explore the rich heritage and creative revival of Song Wat, one of Bangkok's historic riverside trading districts. Journey by tuk-tuk with your Capella Culturist to a century-old shophouse for a private traditional Thai dessert-making workshop. Meet local artisans and discover stories of culture, craftsmanship and community before returning to the hotel aboard a traditional longtail boat. DURATION: 3 hours - 3 hours 30 minutes
A MOMENT OF MEDITATION Taught by Monk Phra Ajan Prasert, the mindfulness meditation master from our next-door temple Wat Yannawa, Capella’s guests will embark on a journey of how thoughts and feelings move in particular patterns. UNTOLD STORIES OF
CHAROENKRUNG DURATION: 3 hours Discover the best of the ancient street of Charoenkrung on this 3-4 hour long tour. Our hotel sits on the first and oldest paved road in Bangkok, winding along the magnificent Chao Phraya River. Unlock first-hand insights into Charoenkrung’s history, marvel at centuries-old architecture and uncover an intricate system of beliefs, see street art, learn about the Portuguese settlement, and taste iconic street foods such as the legendary confections at Thai Dessert store. Hop aboard your private tuk tuk – Bangkok’s signature mode of transport. Zoom by Prince Rama Theater before visiting Wat Suan Phlu Buddhist temple, the Bangkokian Museum, Warehouse 30 community art space, and ATT 19 - a 120-year-old Chinese language school converted into an art gallery. Finally, a ride in a classic longtail boat back to the hotel. INCLUSIONS: Private tuk-tuk, travel insurance, private licensed tour guide, admission fees, bottled water, cold towel. Bangkok is one of the most beautiful cities at night. We will explore the old quarter of town with a short walk through the famous and huge Pak Klong Talad Flower Market to smell the roses, orchids, jasmine, tulips, and more.
We will visit the Royal Palace, built in 1782, along with the famous Emerald Buddha. After that, we will explore the famous Chao Phraya River by classic Thai longtail boat.
Catch a view of stunning Wat Pho Temple lit up at night before passing by the illuminated Grand Palace to catch the stunning gold architecture glimmer under its lights. Finish off the night with a nice cold beer at a cozy pub on famous Khao San Road. INCLUSIONS: Tuk-tuk transportation (3 hours), travel insurance, private licensed tour guide, 1 local beer. DRESS CODE: Casual
Enjoy the scenery of old Thai houses and temples along the canals. A stop will be made at ‘Wat Arun’, the Temple of Dawn, one of the great landmarks of Bangkok.
