Cape Henry Collegiate’s Job Shadow Day was a great success thanks to the local businesses, medical professionals, military personnel, entrepreneurs and government officials who partnered with us. Tailored to the junior class, this one-day event could not happen without Cape Henry alumni, parents and other community members committing to provide incredible experiences for our students. Their willingness to give our students a day of real-world, practical experience will leave a lasting impression.

Marcus Viera '24, Daniella Volpe '24, Taylor Ervin '24, and AJ Todl '24 were hosted by CHC parent Mr. Scott Petersen at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division. They were exposed to many disciplines of engineering and learned about combatant craft design and mission system integration. They interacted with a team of engineers and wrapped up the day with demonstration of a developmental hybrid electric unmanned surface vessel.

'24, Cate Dixon '24 and Savannah Thorpe '24 were hosted by Mr. Alex Martinez, a special agent and polygraph examiner. The students received in-depth, expert scientific explanations regarding forensics such as toxicology, forensic biology and firearms.
