TThis year’s graduation celebration will take place at The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village, and we invite our business community, Leadership Cape Coral alumni, family members, and friends to join us as we recognize this incredible group of individuals. Reservations can be made online at www.capecoralchamber.com. Leadership Cape Coral has long been one of the Chamber’s signature programs, offering participants a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the community we call home. Over the past several months, this year’s class has explored everything from local government, public safety, and infrastructure to healthcare, education, tourism, business, and the arts. Along the way, they’ve met with community leaders, toured local businesses and organizations, and gained a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our growing city. But what makes Leadership Cape Coral so special isn’t just what participants learn. It’s the relationships they build and the connections they make along the way. Every year, we bring together individuals from different businesses, industries, and backgrounds. Many begin the program as complete strangers, but by graduation, they’ve developed friendships, professional connections, and a shared appreciation for Cape Coral that will last well beyond their time in the program. I’ve always believed that the more you know about your community, the more invested you become in its future. That’s what Leadership Cape Coral is all about. We want participants to walk away not only with a better understanding of how our city works, but also with the desire to get involved, give back, and help shape what comes next. As Cape Coral continues to grow and evolve, we need informed, engaged leaders who are willing to step up, ask questions, share ideas, and be part of the solutions that move our community forward. Whether that means serving on a nonprofit board, volunteering, becoming involved in local government, or simply being a stronger advocate for our business community, every contribution makes a difference. The People Behind the Program Of course, a program like Leadership Cape Coral doesn’t happen without an incredible amount of planning, coordination, and commitment from the people who help bring it all together.
I want to extend a very special thank you to all of our Leadership Cape Coral Chairs and Day Chairs, including Dr. Omar Clark, Kennedy VanDyke, Eric Gundersen, Alex Cortez, and Joe Yapello, for their dedication, leadership, and countless hours invested in making this year’s program a success.
Ross Shelton, IncredibleBank Simone Sanchez, FunToDo.com Tyler Cordrey, Sun Splash Waterpark. To each of our graduates, congratulations! You have dedicated your time and energy to learning more about our community, building relationships, and developing your leadership skills. I hope you leave this experience with a greater appreciation for Cape Coral and a renewed commitment to making a difference.
Our Chairs and Day Chairs play an essential role in shaping the experiences our participants enjoy throughout the program. From coordinating speakers and arranging tours to developing meaningful sessions that showcase the many facets of our community, they help ensure that each Leadership Cape Coral experience is both educational and memorable.
On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral, our Board of Directors, staff, and Leadership Cape Coral alumni, I want to congratulate the entire Class of 2026. We are incredibly proud of you and look forward to seeing the contributions you will continue to make throughout Cape Coral and Southwest Florida.
I also want to recognize the many businesses, organizations, community leaders, and volunteers who opened their doors and shared their knowledge with our class this year. It truly takes a community to make this program possible, and we are grateful to everyone who plays a part. Thank You to Our Annual Leadership Sponsors We are also incredibly fortunate to have the continued support of our Annual Leadership Cape Coral Sponsors: Lee County Electric Cooperative (LCEC), FunToDo Social Media, The Breeze Newspapers, and The News-Press. Their generous support and commitment to leadership development help us provide meaningful educational opportunities, unique experiences, and valuable connections for our participants. Their investment goes far beyond sponsorship. It is an investment in the future of Cape Coral and the individuals who will help lead our community forward. Congratulations to the Leadership Cape Coral Class of 2026!
I hope you’ll join us on Friday, November 13th, at The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village as we celebrate these 25 outstanding graduates. Reservations can be made at www.capecoralchamber.com. After all, leadership isn’t just about the title you hold or the position you have. It’s about the difference you make in the lives of others and the community you call home.
