Santiam High School Students Recognized for Academic Success

Friends and family of local scholars attended the 26th Annual Distinguished Scholar Dessert this past Feb 16 at the Santiam High School Commons. Organized by Caroline Gillaspy, the event recognized students who have maintained a 3.5 GPA for 3-7 semesters, completed specific courses and had no grade lower than a C. Academic patches and medallions were given to qualified students and chocolate cake with strawberries treated the entire crowd. This was one of the largest groups of recipients, said speaker Rich Moore, “Realize your potential. What you do with your talent is your gift to everyone else.”
