Tell us what sports or activities you were involved in and why you enjoy it.
I play quarterback on the JJ Pearce High School football team. I enjoy the game because you can’t win with just one person. It requires a team effort and the feeling of success is surreal.
Tell us your honors and awards in school.
In 2018, I was recognized Academic AllDistrict and was selected 2nd Team All RISD and Honorable Mention All-District 8-6A.
What’s your favorite subject in school (your sport doesn’t count!)?
My favorite subject is Science.
Tell us about your plans after graduation.
Currently, I haven’t decided if I will try to pursue football in college. I plan to study Kinesiology.
Outside of schools and sports, what do you do for fun, hobbies, work, etc.?
I am an outdoor-kind of guy. I enjoy fishing, hunting, golfing and just hanging outdoors in general at a lake or a farm.
How long have you lived in Canyon Creek?
We moved to Canyon Creek when I was 1 year old.
What do you love most about living in Canyon Creek?
I love my neighborhood because they’re friendly. There are lots of spots to have fun, eat and hang with friends. I used to go down to the creek every day after school and catch turtles and fish until my mom would worry and start to look for me.
Tells us a favorite story or two about a big moment or fun moment playing your sport.
All-time favorite would have to be last season when our football team was a 40 point underdog to #9 in the state, Cedar Hill. We prepared and worked hard going into that game. No one gave us a chance to win. We won the game 23-21. My next favorite is one day in 4th grade, my dad put on his Steeler football helmet and gave me my first football helmet. My dad told me he would pay me every time I hit him with force so I did. From that day forward, I enjoyed tackling people which is one of the reasons I still play football.
Share with us a funny or awesome story of living in Canyon Creek.
I have so many fond memories of living in Canyon Creek like Halloween Nights and creek adventures. The best one of all was a snow day in elementary school. We got the great news from my man Pete Delkus that we had no school. We went to my friend Robbie Curry’s front yard. We sprayed water on his front driveway until it froze so we could ice skate. When the snow really started to come down, we made the biggest snow man I have ever seen. It was so big, we couldn’t stack the snow balls onto each other. We left them on the ground and it looked like the snowman had fallen. We squirted ketchup on it so it looked like it was bleeding. People stopped all day long to take pictures of it. We thought we were famous.
Anything else you would love for your neighbors to know about you?
I am in the JJ Pearce Stampede dance team and I am a huge Texas Tech and Dallas Cowboy fan.
