Call it a case of lost and found. Jennifer Tilbury is looking for the previous owners of her Tsawwassen home so she can return a “beautiful diamond wedding ring” she discovered while renovating one of the bathrooms. “The first thing I thought was oh my god, she left her wedding ring here,” Tilbury said. Tilbury moved into the home on Galway Drive, one of the properties along the Tsawwassen power line corridor sold by B.C. Hydro, in late March and found the ring in late April. She was pulling down wallpaper in a bathroom and needed to remove a set of built-in shelves. The ring was behind one of the shelves. “It was sitting right there, just tucked away. John Mrazek put on an aerobatic demonstration in his Harvard at the sixth annual Boundary Bay Air Show that drew thousands to Boundary Bay Airport last Saturday afternoon. In attempts to find contact information, she searched online, talked to neighbours across the street and went to a post office distribution centre in an attempt to find change of address details. Neighbours told Tilbury, who’s lived in Tsawwassen for over 20 years, the Whites were the original owners and a “lovely couple.” A D E LTA OPTIMIST SPECIAL SECTION

Delta police are investigating after someone shot at a South Delta home over the weekend. At about 1:30 p.m. Sunday officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 5200-block of 12th Avenue in Tsawwassen. Officers determined a single shot had been fired and the bullet had gone through a window. “All occupants of this residence were outside at the time of the incident and fortunately none were injured,” said police spokesperson Sgt. Sharlene Brooks. The K-9 and forensic identification units were called in to assist with the investigation.
