he Abbotsford Police Depar tment’s new gang suppression unit debuted with a Top-10 hit Friday after taking down a well-known Fraser Valley gang-
ster. Lance William Wust, 35, was arrested Friday morning along with another man in a black Ford pickup truck after a drug warrant executed on Wust’s residence in the 36000 block of Old Yale Road turned up a loaded gun, cash and drugs.
APD spokesperson Const. Ian MacDonald said the arrest was “huge.” Police seized a loaded 40mm Glock, several thousand dollars in cash, two sets of body armour, gun ammo and hundreds of Oxycontin capsules. see WUST, page A19

bbotsford residents could be hearing more about the fate of the old MSA General Hospital site in the next couple of months. A Fraser Health Authority spokesperson said there
will be a consultation meeting scheduled with the mayor and community soon to discuss the future of the prime property on McCallum Road. Fraser Health owns the property, so the City of Abbotsford can’t move forward with its plan for the site until the health authority makes a decision. “We have a plan developed for that property and it’s going to be a mixed residential-commercial use area,” Abbotsford Mayor George Peary said. “It’s going to be a very nice addition
