H’S BLEND GAMAY NOIR 2011 Donor: Anonymous Region: BC Estimated Value: $55.00 The sommelier team at Hawksworth Restaurant and Orofino Winery come together to create this stunning Gamay Noir. Fun and refreshing this red boasts fruity flavours of cherry, crushed raspberry and juicy strawberry. Exclusive to Hawksworth and Bel Cafe, this wine is the perfect accompaniment to any meal or occasion.

The 2013 Nota Bene has proven to be yet another outstanding vintage. Its tantalizing signature of sweet, ripe cherry complimented by its dusty earth undertones is salivating. Rich, smooth tannins coat the palate resulting in a juicy mouth feel with an alluring gilt of violets, flowery undertones and a lingering finish reminiscent of a sweet cigar box.

Medium-full bodied with well integrated tannins and a lengthy weight that would pair most perfectly with robust BBQ red meats, bison and grilled vegetables.

BLACK HILLS NOTA BENE GIFT BOX/ 3 BOTTLES/ 2012 Donor: Canuck Place Children’s Hospice Region: BC Estimated Value: $159.00 3 bottles of Black Hills Estate Winery is triple the fun! This vintage exhibits plum, dark cherry, violet and cassis on the nose. On the palate it is full bodied with great acid structure, showing flavours of black fruits and chocolate backed by a hint of coffee. This was a great vintage producing a more masculine wine than previous vintages. It has a long finish and is an age-friendly wine that would pair well with grilled game meat and roasted vegetables. Not for consumption before 2016.

FOXTROT VINEYARDS HENRICSSON RESERVE PINOT NOIR 2011 Donor: Stanley Asset Management Region: BC Estimated Value: $150.00 This wine has a lovely ruby hue and aromas of leather, strawberry and raspberry. The raspberry and strawberry continue on the palate with notes of licorice, rhubarb, tea leaf, and a certain classic Pinot earthiness. The wine has velvety smooth tannins with medium body and long finish. This wine should easily age for 5+ years.

Blanc 2014 – Aromatic white flowers intermingled with vivid citrus and tropical papaya.

Dry and medium bodied on the palate, this wine has great texture and is typically bright and juicy with notes of gooseberries, lemon and zesty grapefruit •C hasselas Pinot 2014 – A perennial favorite at Quails’ Gate, the 2014 version is typically aromatic bursting with aromas of white flowers, honeydew melon, apple, pear and pink grapefruit.

Slightly off-dry, the palate is fresh and fruity with just a touch of minerality and a nicely balanced citrusy finish.

•G ewürztraminer 2013 – Bright high tone aromatics, a spicy mid-palate and a soft and balanced off-dry finish. The aromas of the 2013 vintage are evocative with rose petal, sandalwood and lychee notes. The wine leads with a vibrant attack but is weighty and elegantly balanced for a truly outstanding Gewürztraminer.

•R ose 2014 – A beautiful salmon pink in hue, this year’s Rosé begins with fresh ripe strawberries, notes of cracked black pepper and vanilla ice cream. On tasting, the wine is fresh and juicy with more summer red berries, watermelon and pink grapefruit notes that linger nicely on the tongue.

•P inot Noir 2013 – This year’s Pinot Noir is full of ripe cherry-scented fruit with enticing notes of clove, allspice and hints of rosemary mingling with accents of forest floor. The wine is smooth with a supple mouthfeel and a surprisingly weighty mid palate.

•O ld Vines Foch 2012 – Black ripe cherry, milk chocolate with notes of toasty vanilla on the nose, this year’s vintage of Foch is ripe, full bodied and delicious.

Dark and rich, cassis, blackberry, vanilla and spice on the nose. On the palate, more ripe black fruit, dark chocolate, vanilla and baking spice with mouth filling ripe tannins and high acidity. Give this wine maximum cellar time for the ultimate reward, best consumed from 2018-2023 and you will understand what all the hype is about.

• La Frenz Sauvignon Blanc 2014 – A range of picking dates is used to capture the full spectrum of intense characteristics of passion fruit, green bean, and freshly cut grass. This wine continues to win multiple notable medals every year which showcases the consistently superior quality that we strive to achieve.

Frenz Semillion: 2014 – While young, the wine displays delicious white grapefruit, Asian pear, lemon curd and dried herbs whilst finishing with a lingering creaminess. Recommended cellaring up to 5 years although under ideal transportation and cellaring conditions, you can cellar this wine for up to 7 years.

•L a Frenz Alexandria 2013 – This wine has so much fruit and concentration that it is just an explosion of flavour! This wine is a kaleidoscope of musk and exotic, tropical fruits such as lychee and mango.

•C assini Merlot 2012 – Intense aromas of black currant, raspberry jam, spice and hints of cedar and vanilla. Smooth silky tannins with long lingering blackberry and cocoa notes.

•L a Frenz Merlot 2010 – This is a dark and concentrated wine a nice chewy texture and flavours of black currant, fig, chocolate and tobacco.

•L a Frenz Pinot Noir 2011 – Well-balanced, soft ripe tannins, rich vanilla and strong red fruit this wine promises drinking well now.

• 8th Generation Vineyard Pinot Meunier Rose 2014 – “Sexy pink” fruit explosion in your glass; everything that’s red; raspberries, pink grapefruit, strawberries, watermelon, plum, rhubarb and a cinnamon clove is just the tip of fresh fruit iceberg that you will find in this wine.

•L aughing Stock Portfolio 2012 – This wine is a complex layering of dark berries, herbs and oak aromas. Strong notes of mint, cassis and thyme are in harmony with the jammy fruit, dark chocolate and vanilla undertones. On the palate, the tannins are supple and the fruit is prominent, proudly showcasing the warm growing season.

The end result is a smooth, long finish and a wine built to age.

•V an Westen Voluptuous 2006 – This dense wine is laden with black fruit and ripe raspberry and chocolate with sweet vanilla, saddle leather, a hint of earthy/savoury aromas and a core of dried fruit. The palate is concentrated but fresh with loads of black fruit, wild herbs and lush, mouth-filling grape tannins, the finish is extensive with leather and peppery spice flavours.

Taste how Tantalus Old Vines Riesling has changed throughout the years with this package of 6 bottles with vintages from 2007-2012. Among the highest rated Kelowna wines, Tantalus Old Vines Riesling are not for the faint of heart.

•T antalus Rielsing 2007 – The nose shows ripe apple and orange citrus. On the palate the acidity has softened over the years leaving a wine that is tense, compelling and thirst-quenching - apples and rock with hints of stone fruit and orange peel.

The flavours are deep and complex. Careful here – you’ll keep reaching for more.

•T antalus Rielsing 2008 – Keen and precise with high acidity and notes of lemons and herbs.

Dry, focused and linear with high acidity.

• Tantalus Riesling 2009 – Dense and spicy, with apple pie crust and mineral character. Full and fruity, with bright acidity and a dried apricot and ginger aftertaste. Very intense.

•T antalus Riesling 2010 – Made from vines that are 30+ years old, this is a complex, age-worthy wine that shows generous bright citrus flavours with searing but balanced acidity.

•T antalus Riesling 2011 – Made from the grapes planted in 1978, this special offering from Tantalus has a more mature nose with a touch of diesel and clean, crisp grapefruit and citrus on the palate. This wine has a crisp steeliness running through that leaves it beautifully balanced and ready for sushi, scallops, fish, or spicy fare.

• Tantalus Riesling 2012 – A lovely straw yellow, this wine carries a fine, persitant bead in the glass with a soft, delicate mousse. Harmonious aromas of freshly-zested citrus fruit, wet stone and a hint of brioche showcase the classic intensity of our Old Vines in its bubbly format. On the palate, crunchy Granny Smith apple, pear and a hint of florality persist to a bright, crisp finish with a lingering minerality.

Family Pinot Noir 2012 – Supple, smooth and mouth-watering with tart black cherry and fresh earth in the medium-bodied BC red wine made from the iconic Pinot Noir.

•P oplar Grove Merlot 2010 – Bright ruby red in colour. The nose is greeted with a bouquet of fresh berry fruit, vanilla and Okanagan sage with a hint of eucalyptus. Upon the first sip the Merlot unveils flavours of black current, chocolate and spice followed by notes of tobacco and vanilla.

Velvety tannins and a round mid palate allows this medium bodied wine to have both structure and softness.

•L iberty School Chardonnay 2009 – Partially barrel fermented, this Chardonnay is rich in character and is a skilled example of what the Central Coast has to offer. While pleasing to the connoisseur, its fruit-driven style makes it purely unpretentious, gratifying and easy to enjoy with food or by itself.

•T antalus Pinot Noir 2012 – A lovely lifted perfume defines this vintage. Aromas of violets and raspberry compote give way to a touch of earth and a hint of spice. The palate shows both power and delicacy with flavours of brambleberry, chokecherry and plum. Firm, yet forgiving tannins sculpt the mouth feel and offer a lingering finish.

•M t. Boucherie Summit 2009 – This dry, full bodied barrel aged blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc offers berry aromas and flavours of black currant, chocolate shavings, and a hint of mint. Well integrated tannins take you to a long finish.

•P ainted Rock Syrah 2012 – Textbook Syrah with up front spicy components of vanilla, due to barrel aging, cardamom and white pepper.

Bright, juicy red cherries, plums and violets. A savouriness takes over on the palate with olive brine, meatiness and more spice. Well integrated tannin from French and American oak, combined with juicy acidity make for a well-balanced and complex wine.

Succulent and expressive in the glass, the 2012 is laced with red cherry pit, plum, spice, leather and mint. The pliant, expressive finish is pure 2012. Readers who want to experience a Togni wine at an entry-level price will find much to admire in this outstanding effort.

Gewürztraminer 2012 – With impeccable balance and a thirst-quenching nature, it is an elegant expression of Gewürztraminer.

Classic aromas of lychee nut and Asian pear are coaxed from the glass, shy at first but becoming profuse with swirling. At times both sweet and spicy, it dances in the mouth with prominent, vibrant acidity, perfectly balanced by a kiss of residual sugar on the finish.

•D uckhorn Sauvignon Blanc 2014 – The 2014 vintage has yielded a complex and silky Sauvignon Blanc with alluring aromas of lemongrass, Kaffir lime, vanilla and green papaya. On the palate, racy acidity underscores lovely flavours of lemon meringue, star fruit, candied ginger and minerality, carrying the wine through to a long, bright finish.

•T womey Merlot by Silver Oak Cellars 2010 – A dark garnet color and a complex nose of cherry liqueur, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, lavender, cloves and hazelnut. On the palate, it has a velvety mouthfeel, a full body, beautiful acid balance and a long, juicy finish. Given proper cellaring, this wine should give drinking pleasure through 2027.

•B iondi - Santi Rosso Di Montalcino 2010 –

Dried cherries, crushed flowers, mint, spices and cedar lift out of the glass in the 2010 Rosso di Montalcino. Sweet and layered, but also classic in its austerity and structure, the 2010 captures the essence of the house style.

•H eitz Cellars Trailside Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 – A very inviting wine with rich aromas of boysenberry, cassis and mint all tightly woven around a sweet core. On the palate this Cabernet is firm with rich, savory notes of cigar box and chocolate, culminating in a silky finish. A compelling and flavourful wine.

•H obel Cult Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 – Exhibiting aromas of cassis and black currant. The acidity is a very large part of what gives the 2010 Hobel Cabernet Sauvignon such a classic feel - it provides more cut and delineation and gives the wine a light on its feet quality that’s refreshing without sacrificing concentration.

CHATEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD 1979 Donor: Francesco Aquilini Region: France (Bordeaux) Estimated Value: $600.00 This wine from one of the world’s finest wine producers and has an attractively brilliant, red-orange color and a nose that opens slowly to reveal notes of cedarwood, spice, pepper and black berry fruit with airing. Relatively refined on the palate, it shows good structure, delicate and not overly powerful, with supple, silky tannins.

Spice, caramel, earth and leather complete the pleasant impression in the mouth, combining subtle flavours with an agreeable structure.

1403. CHATEAU L’EGLISE-CLINET POMEROL 1975 Donor: Anonymous Region: France (Bordeaux) Estimated Value: $449.00 A thick, dark ruby-purple colour with no signs of age. Sweet and expansive, with jammy fruit, huge body, and tannin, this approachable but youthful wine should evolve effortlessly for another 25-30+ years.

Deep ruby color and a sweet nose of mulberries, black currants and jammy cherry notes intermixed with mineral, licorice, and a hint of subtle toast. This wine is sweet, expansive and dense, with a gorgeous fruit hiding some relatively elevated tannin.

1405. CHATEAU PICHON LONGEUVILLE 2005 Donor: John & Claire Nicola Region: France Estimated Value: $200.00 Cedar, truffle, cigar box and lead pencil scents are already coming to the forefront. The wine is powerful, full bodied, concentrated and long, with a richness of character and a seamless, finesse style that make this a delicious treat that will age for decades.

ANTINORI SOLAIA TOSCANA 2007 Donor: Paul Zalesky Region: Italy Estimated Value: $250.00 Intense ruby red in color, this wine displays classic Cabernet Sauvignon character with intense fruitdriven aromas of ripe cherries and blackberries without excessive hints of oak. Generous and smooth on the palate with soft, gentle and balanced tannins.

Distinctive varietal notes meld together harmoniously with a long and wonderfully persistent finish.

1407. - 1409. CHATEAU CLERC MILON 2010 Donor: Brian O’Sullivan Region: France Estimated Value: $131.00 A complex nose of cedar wood, red and black fruits, white chocolate and creme de cassis. A very powerful wine with impressive purity and texture, a full-bodied mouthfeel, relatively sweet tannin, but an already endearing complexity, length and richness that are hard to ignore.

Château-Grillet is a wine for the initiated, which does not give up its secrets easily; it has great elegance, tightness and a magnificent aromatic complexity.

The aromatic spectrum is wide and varied. Floral elegance (rose, violet, lime-blossom) and soft fruitiness (pear, pineapple, apricot) can also accompany warmer, more indulgent notes such as honey, nougat, hazelnut, vanilla, white truffle, or spices like saffron. A remarkably well-balanced wine, dominated by its fat which is nicely offset by the excellent acidity.

Château-Grillet is a perfect match for truffled foie gras, roast turbot, grilled lobster, scallops or Bresse chicken in cream sauce.

A very strong effort from Petit Village, the 2010 is the finest effort in years. Dark plum with hints of mocha, caramel, sweet currants and cherries, this opulent, savory, and explosive full-bodied wine already is accessible and evolved. Anticipated maturity: now- 2025.

1411. - 1413. CHATEAU DE BEAUCASTEL 1999

An opaque blue/purple color is accompanied by impressively sweet floral notes intermixed with black currant and blackberry fruit. Medium to full-bodied with high but round tannins, the 2010 Boyd-Cantenac is exceptionally well-endowed, textured and pure.

Enjoy the 2010 for 25 or more years.

A deep red nearly black colour. The nose is quite mature with notes of brandy, marc and wet wood.

The mouth gives off notes of under-wood, quite light and slightly un-balanced at this stage but not aggressive and it has a very good length.
