Executive Director Report Seth Klinedinst April is shaping up to be an exciting and impactful month as we continue building on the momentum from an incredibly successful Annual Dinner. The energy in the room that night was something special, it was a reminder of just how strong, supportive, and forward moving this community truly is. From our business owners to our volunteers, educators, and community partners, Canton showed exactly what can happen when we all come together with a shared purpose. There is a lot to be proud of, and even more to look forward to. As we move into April, we have several great opportunities to stay connected and engaged. Please join us for a Ribbon Cutting for Hendricks Rental on Wednesday, April 15th. Events like these are a great way to support new and growing businesses while showing what Chamber membership is all about. We will also host a Business After Hours on Thursday, April 16th with CASA of West Central Illinois. These gatherings continue to be a strong point for the Chamber, offering a relaxed environment to build relationships, share ideas, and strengthen our local network. On Saturday, April 25th, we will participate in Community Workday. This is one of the best examples of what makes Canton special, people showing up, working together, and taking pride in their community. It’s not just about the work being done, but the message it sends about who we are and what we value. Looking ahead to May, we are actively seeking sponsors for our Annual Golf Outing. This event continues to grow each year and is a great opportunity for businesses to gain visibility while supporting Chamber initiatives. We encourage anyone interested to get involved early as we continue building another great event. The direction of the Chamber is clear, we are focused on connection, collaboration, and growth. There is a strong sense of momentum right now, and it’s being driven by the people in this community who continue to step up, support one another, and invest in Canton’s future. We have a lot of playmakers here, and together, we are pushing forward in a big way. Thank you all for being a part of it, we’re just getting started.

Sincerely, Seth Klinedinst Executive Director Canton Area Chamber of Commerce

Canton Park District Spotlight

The Canton Park District has kicked off 2026 with strong momentum, offering programs, events, and improvements that continue to enhance our community. Our Lunch & Learn series-hosted in partnership with First Christian Church has been well attended. Sessions are held on the second Thursday of each month and feature a variety of engaging topics. Registration opens on the third Monday of each month. In March, the District hosted the 69th Annual Fulton County Town & Country Art Show at the Donaldson Community Center. More than 600 attendees viewed 289 exhibits from Fulton County residents. We thank the artists, educators, and community members who support this long-standing event. The Fulton County Rockhounders will host the 66th Annual Gem and Mineral show at the Donaldson Community Center on April 11th and 12th. Show is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Recreation remains a key focus. Registration is open for Youth Baseball and Adult Softball leagues, and youth dance classes are preparing for their spring recital on May 22 at Canton High School. Lakeland Park will open April 1, with 2026 boat stickers now available for purchase. The golf driving range has also seen strong winter usage during favorable weather. The Park Board recently announced a major improvement to Big Creek Park. Funded by a generous gift from Charlotte Ann Bennett, the new inclusive playground will feature accessible elements that support a wide range of abilities while providing engaging play opportunities for all. The Canton Park District remains committed to connecting our community to quality parks, programs, and recreation opportunities.

Graham Health System Spotlight Expanding Our Patient-Centered, Quality Healthcare in Central and Western Illinois At Graham Health System, our mission has always been to provide compassionate, quality healthcare, in a responsible and charitable manner, to the people and communities we serve. As we continue to grow and expand our services across Central and Western Illinois- specifically in Fulton, Knox, McDonough, Mason, and Peoria Counties- our commitment to improving community health and creating opportunity is stronger than ever. Growth and Job Opportunities With continued growth in Fulton, Knox, McDonough, Mason and Peoria Counties, Graham Health System is now approaching 1,000 employees throughout the region. We continue to hire professionals (both clinical & non-clinical) to support the ongoing needs of the health system. The Graham Hospital School of Nursing has successfully converted to the Graham Hospital College of Nursing completing its accreditation visit in March of this year. A student can now go to Spoon River College or Carl Sandberg College for their initial 2 years of college, transfer to Graham’s College of Nursing for an additional 2 years, and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Participants in the Graham Scholarship program can achieve this degree with little to no school debt and earn a competitive salary in a very rewarding career. Investment Updates Canton: The Graham Hospital Foundation recently purchased the previous JC Penny’s building at Fulton Square. Once renovated, the facility will feature a 16,000 square foot Event Center, named “The 1909”. The space will be open to the public to host events of up to 400 people. Work is underway to bring a variety of events and entertainment to the Center. Additional space will also be available for lease to help bring new businesses to the area. Galesburg: Graham Health System will open its first Ambulatory Surgery Center later this year. The outpatient surgery center is the final phase of development on the campus at 2028 N. Seminary in Galesburg IL. This facility will bring a variety of much needed surgeries to the area, allowing patients to receive the care they need close to home. Macomb: Growth continues in the Macomb market with the addition of a second clinic on the western edge of Macomb (1701 West Jackson) to allow for additional Primary Care and Convenient Care options, as well as Wound Care. This clinic is scheduled to open in Summer of 2026. Positive Impact on Canton - Reaching New Patients The expansion of Graham Health System outside of Canton (Macomb, Galesburg, Glasford, Williamsfield & Elmwood) has driven growth within Canton itself. The more patients we care for regionally, the more people (potential customers) are coming to Canton to shop the Square, grab groceries, eat out at a local restaurant, drive through the new car dealer’s lot, or to stop at Wal-Mart. Although Canton is a single zip code (61520) Graham attracts patients on an annual basis from over 400 other distinct zip codes to Canton.
