PUBLIC NOTICE
DRAFT FEASIBILITY REPORT AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR THE CAÑO MARTÍN PEÑA ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION PROJECT Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1970 (NEPA, PL 91-190) and U. S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations, this public notice constitutes a Notification of Availability of the draft Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement for the Caño Martín Peña Environmental Restoration Project, San Juan, Puerto Rico (D-FR/EIS). The D-FR/EIS examines the benefits and effects of this Project, whose main objective is to re-establish the tidal connection between the San José Lagoon and the San Juan Bay through the dredging and channelization of approximately 2.2 miles of the eastern portion of the Caño Martín Peña. The D-FR/EIS will be available for public review starting Friday, September 11, 2015, during working hours, at: (a) Corporación del Proyecto ENLACE del Caño Martín Peña, 1957 Ponce de León Avenue, Pda. 26, Santurce (787-7291594); (b) Grupo de las Ocho Comunidades Aledañas al Caño Martín Peña, G-8, Inc., Uruguay St. and Quisqueya St., Hato Rey; (c) Compañía para el Desarrollo de la Península de Cantera, Constitución St., Cantera; (d) and Library of the Graduate School of Planning of the UPR, Río Piedras. No individual responses will be sent to those who submit comments or questions. ENLACE has scheduled two public meetings in which there will be a brief presentation of the D-FR/EIS and time to receive questions and comments from the public. However, all technical questions and comments must be submitted in writing.
