C annon Cultures invites you and your family to take a stroll through Winter Wonderland this December.
This school-wide event celebrates the diverse holidays and traditions that take place during the holiday season from November to January. The inaugural event will have a fun and entertaining atmosphere while raising cultural awareness by highlighting six (6) holidays and showcasing Christmas celebrations and customs from five (5) countries around the globe. The 2023 Winter Wonderland featured holidays will be Las Posadas, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Hanukkah, Christmas, and St. Lucia. Venezuela, Philippines, France, Iceland, and the United States will be the countries showcased.
This school-wide event celebrates the diverse holidays and traditions that take place during the holiday season from November to January. The inaugural event will raise cultural awareness by highlighting seven (7) holidays. We will also showcase Christmas celebrations and customs from five (5) countries around the globe. The 2024 Winter Wonderland featured holidays will be Las Posadas, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Hanukkah, Christmas, St. Lucia Day, and Lunar New Year. Thailand, Canada, Columbia, Greece, and Spain will be the countries showcased. This year’s theme is, “Savor the Season”. We are inviting attendants to “savor” the experience of different cultures and traditions, and “savor” the diversity of food and cultural cuisines.
Submit your recipe to Cannon Cultures, and become a part of “SAVOR : A recipe book for the holiday season and beyond”.
It can be anything from appetizers to desserts or even dietary specific recipes (gluten-free, nut free,etc.). We welcome students, educators, parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends of Cannon School to use the link Recipe for Savor to submit.
SAVOR THE CULTURE
The heart of Winter Wonderland are the twelve holiday and country tents that will provide a glimpse into the traditions and customs of different cultures. Craft stations will be located throughout to create a cultural craft to treasure.
