CANNON SCHOOL is proud to offer Beyond the Bell (BTB) after-school enrichment programs for students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 8, as well as private music lessons for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12.
Q: When and how can I sign up for Beyond the Bell classes?
A: All registrations should be completed through the Veracross Family Portal. Class fees are due at the time of registration. Registration is not complete until payment has been submitted.
Q: What if I want to cancel or change a class after the session begins?
A: You may cancel within the first week of the session. After a student attends the second class, billing cannot be canceled and full payment is required. If you cancel during the first week, you will be billed only for the one class attended at the per-class rate.
Q: How do I pay?
A: Payment is required at registration. You may pay online by credit card.

Q: How many students are accepted in each BTB class?
A: Each class has its own minimum and maximum enrollment. Classes that do not reach the minimum will be canceled. Classes will close once they reach capacity, so early registration is highly recommended.
Q: What if a class is canceled?
A: If a scheduled class is canceled, we will do our best to make it up during the designated make-up week at the end of the 10-week session. Families will receive direct communication with details about the rescheduled class.
Music Lessons

Students will explore yoga as they move through postures, learn breathing techniques, play games, and enjoy mindful moments in a supportive, fun environment guided by their certified instructor. We’ll learn about the limbs of yoga through movement, creative crafts, journaling, and other engaging activities that make yoga accessible and enjoyable for all students. *Mats will be provided, though students may bring their own if they prefer.

DreamWorld is an imaginative adventure class where children become “Dream Explorers” and journey through magical lands filled with shadow puppets, music, movement, mystery, and play. Each class invites students into an interactive story where they help characters solve problems, face fears, practice kindness, and work together to save DreamWorld. Along the way, children build confidence, emotional awareness, listening skills, creativity, and self-control through games, acting, and guided make-believe. Perfect for young adventurers, DreamWorld turns social-emotional learning into a living story kids can step inside.

Dust off your dancing shoes and ‘tap’ into your best FOSSE with jazz hands. Working on technique each week, dancers will learn a different genre of dance (tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, hula, etc.) for 30 minutes. During the final 30 minutes of each class, students will focus on one genre as they prepare for a small showcase in the final week of the session. No dance experience required. CANNON SCHOOL

Ready to build on your beginning string skills? This class is designed for students who have completed Beginning String Orchestra or have equivalent experience. Fifth and sixth grade students who are currently enrolled in the school day string orchestra and would like additional practice to strengthen their foundational skills are also encouraged to enroll. Students will continue developing their note reading, rhythm, tone production, and ensemble skills while learning engaging new music in a fun and supportive environment. This class is ideal for students who are progressing beyond the beginner level and working toward intermediate musicianship. *Students will need to rent or own a violin, viola, cello, or double bass.
THE WIZARDING WORLD ACADEMY:

Join Coach Donnie Hayes for his young athlete performance program and be a Yapper! Coach Hayes has more than 20 years of experience helping to develop athletes. This program is designed for young athletes (Grades 2-5) to help them begin their journey toward their full athletic potential. The program will focus on helping young athletes develop one of the most important skills necessary for long-term athletic success, regardless of their sport: agility and body control. We will work on developing the athlete’s agility, footwork, and body control, and lay the foundation for the strength development they will need in the coming years. The sessions will include a dynamic warm-up, a variety of agility drills (such as ladder and cone drills), bodyweight, and plyometric exercises. The athletes will find that these activities will be challenging and fun. Join Coach Hayes to begin your journey to achieve your athletic potential.

Welcome to another session of Baking with Chef Craig. This class will be inspired by fall and Halloweenthemed desserts as well as some classic treats. The kids will use recipes to create scratch made sweets such as Apple Cider Donuts, Pumpkin cupcakes, Candy bar blondies, and fall spiced chocolate chip cookies. The kids will have a blast cracking eggs and mixing up different ingredients to create delicious snacks. We will even finish the session with a make your own pizza party. Each week, students will learn one or two line dances set to popular, kid-friendly songs and will practice performing for their peers. At the end of each class, students will take home step sheets for each dance they learned to practice and/or teach their family and friends at home. No dance experience is needed!

Le Petit Ballet Co. is a dance-education enrichment program offering convenient ballet classes within our 50 partner schools in North Carolina.
