7th Annual Boston Chapter NFSA Golf Tournament

Plymouth Country Club | Plymouth MA

Hello NFSA Members and golf tournament participants,

Welcome to the Plymouth Country Club and the 7th Annual Boston Chapter Golf Tournament!! To our returning participants, thank you for once again being part of our tournament. For the first timers, we are grateful you are joining us this year and hope today’s experience will influence you to return for years to come. We hope you have an awesome experience today, catch up with old colleagues, create new relationships and most importantly have fun.

I’d like to take a moment to thank our golf committee that work tirelessly putting this event together: Alec Cambio – Chapter Vice Chair, Mike Cauley, Thomas Holmes, Frank Colantuoni, Joe Giguere, Chris Paquin and Paul Zbikowski – NE NFSA Regional Director.

These tournaments are a lot of fun but would not be possible without the help of our membership and sponsors. The extreme generosity of our fire sprinkler community never fails to amaze me. This year’s sponsors are prominently highlighted throughout today’s event – please take a moment to recognize their contributions. And lastly – a huge thank you to you, the participants. We as a chapter board made the decision to scale back on the swag to boost the potential donation dollars. This wasn’t an easy decision, as we collectively also wanted to show appreciation to the attendees by providing some desirable swag. The fact that this event continues to be so well attended is very appreciated.

The next Boston Chapter meeting is November 21st at the Trillium Brewery in Canton. We have a great evening planned with demonstrations by Milwaukee Tool. Meeting announcement and registration emails for this meeting will be going out in the next few weeks.

Thank you again to all for attending. We hope you had a fun time and will join us again next year!

Sincerely,

Steven D Cook

Golfers!

Can you believe that this is already the 7th annual NFSA Boston Chapter golf outing? Nothing about this event would be possible without the dedication of the chapter leadership, and particularly Steve Cook and the Boston Chapter Board of Directors. Congratulations on a job well done. It has been a privilege to assist behind the scenes and get to attend this event now three years in a row.

This year NFSA has planned an exciting event to coincide with the golf tournament, namely the first Area 1 Conference to be held at Patriot Place. There will be several excellent and engaging presentations (all for CEU’s), supplier and manufacturer tabletops, and a fantastic dinner and awards banquet. New England’s own, Mike Joanis has been working hard to pull this off with the help of many NFSA staff members.

Finally, I would like to say thank you to all the NFSA members that not only attend the annual golf tournament but support the association and chapter throughout the year with your time, talent, and treasure. There are no NFSA industry events or golf tournaments without those members that give to support the growth and strength of our industry. From time to time (more often than I like) I am asked a version of “will you stop doing what you do if I don’t join?” The answer, for now, is no, but that is only thanks to the companies that step up to the plate to support our collective efforts as an industry. My ask of the contractors is that you support the supplier members that support this industry via the association. If you want to know the members, they are on the website, or I am always an email away (armbrust@nfsa.org)

Remember, nice and easy!

Dear Steve and the NFSA – Boston Chapter,

It is my pleasure to thank you, the members of the National Fire Sprinkler Association – Boston Chapter, for your unwavering support. Over your seven-year history of support to Shriners Children’s Boston, the NFSA - Boston Chapter’s annual golf tournament has contributed over $144,000 to advance pediatric burn care, plastic and reconstructive surgery and cleft lip and palate care, always provided regardless of a family’s ability to pay or insurance status.

Shriners Children’s Boston is a premier pediatric specialty, research, and academic teaching hospital with a medical and research partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital. It is the world’s leading center for pediatric burn care and is the first American Burn Association (ABA) exclusively pediatric verified burn center in New England and New York. Because of our world-class reputation, we are able to treat over 6,000 patients from around the world each year.

Once a child becomes a patient at Shriners Children’s Boston, we care for that child until their eighteenth birthday. Through their ongoing care, each pediatric patient and their family has access to an interdisciplinary team that works in concert to optimize the functional and cosmetic outcomes for each child. Each care plan provides for the child’s physical and emotional recovery, providing the highest quality compassionate, family-centered care to children and their families who face overwhelming medical and emotional challenges. We could not do it without you!

On behalf of Shriners Children’s Boston, wishing you and all the NFSA golfers a wonderful day of golfing and comradery on September 30. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with you and provide lifechanging care to children in need. Our mission is to empower our patients to heal and build fulfilling futures, and your support is key to making this possible. Thank you for helping us bring joy and health back to our patients' lives.

Sincerely,
