At the beginning of his career, he joined the Peace Corps. There were three choices to help determine his placement location: urban, semi-rural, and rural. He checked “rural” and wrote, “Put me in a place where no Peace Corps volunteer has ever been.” They placed him in Swaziland, Africa, where he taught math and science in a sparse cinderblock building. Now, he’s an expert on financial and information systems auditing and a published author on diffusion of innovation. He serves on the Board at the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora, NY. He’s a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Information Systems Auditor. He is an avid golfer. You’d think someone like this would work at, say, PricewaterhouseCoopers. He used to. But now he’s a professor of accounting. He’s chair of the department and an award-winning teacher. This is Joseph O’Donnell, PhD. If he doesn’t have all the answers, he probably knows where to look.
