5204 CASSETTE TRANSCRIBER The 5204 cassette transcriber is designed for the replay of taped interviews recorded on the range of NEAL Interview Recorders. With its robust design, the 5204 is built to withstand the rigorous play, stop and rewind processes inherent in the transcribing process. The sophisticated three motor transport mechanism ensures the safest possible handling of your valuable cassettes.
Features Operation is simple - one touch buttons provide wind, forward, play and stop functions.
A backspace control is fitted to give a variable backspace between zero and three seconds when STOP is operated.
The interview and time announcement levels can be adjusted and mixed together using the voice and time slider controls. This can be monitored through the internal loudspeaker or through external headphones. If the user is given a cassette where the tape level is under-recorded there is sufficient gain available to provide the user with full output volume.
LED indicator shows interview time elapsed in minutes and seconds..
The 5204 Transcriber is supplied with a three position footswitch providing START / STOP, FAST FORWARD and REWIND functions.
If the tape on the interview cassette is too fast/slow to transcribe, the tape speed may be varied using the SPEED control.
One or two pairs of headphones can be plugged into the headphone sockets, automatically muting the loudspeaker. Either mono headphones with a 2 contact ¼” jack plug or stereo headphones with a 3 contact ¼” jack plug can be used in the headphone sockets.
