CANFORD RANGE INCLUDES ARMOURED VERSIONS NEW CANFORD ACTIVE OPTICAL CABLES - HDMI 2.0 Terminated with micro HDMI type D connectors and supplied with adapters to fit full-size, type A, HDMI connectors. A USB to DC power cable and a cable pulling tool are also included. Intended to aid fixed installation; the micro HDMI connectors reduces the likelihood of snagging as the cable 38-8681 is pulled through conduit, fed through voids or behind plaster board. Other benefits may include applications where cables must pass through congested and/or small apertures, such as internally wired brackets and mounts. These CPR certified cables are available in a range of lengths from 10 to 100 metres. They handle 18Gbps and 4K at 60Hz, with 48-bit colour-depth and 3D capabilities. Audio can be transmitted at 8-channel PCM, Dolby Digital True HD, or DTSHD Master Audio.

NEW CANFORD ACTIVE OPTICAL CABLES - HDMI 2.0 - Armoured - Deployable

38-8701

Designed for rental and stage use, these cables are 5.8mm in diameter with a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) jacket. Under the jacket, a layer of Kevlar surrounds a flexible, stainless-steel conduit that protects the core of the cable against rodents and provides crush resistance up to 200kg. Additional Kevlar is placed between wires within the conduit for added strength. Good flexibility is maintained with a bend radius of 45mm. All lengths are terminated with HDMI type A connectors. No external power is required. Cables are available in a range of lengths from 10 to 100 metres. They support 18Gbps and 4K at 60Hz, with 48-bit colourdepth and 3D capabilities. Audio can be transmitted at 8-channel PCM, Dolby Digital True HD, or DTS-HD Master Audio. Active optical HDMI cables are intended for applications where longer cable-run lengths than those obtainable with standard copper HDMI cables are required. They are also useful where the cable needs to pass through environments with high electrical interference. They offer a considerably more elegant and cost-effective solution for long cable runs than CAT5E cable with converter box systems. Applications include professional AV systems interconnection and indoor and outdoor digital signage and kiosks, plus home theatre systems in larger properties.

CABLE DATA & ETHERNET CANFORD CAT5E-F-J CATEGORY 5E DATA CABLE Stranded conductor, screened Multi-circuit deployable Cat5E cables, for both studio and touring/OB applications, based on Canford’s CAT5E-F screened flexible cable.

31-884

The heavy duty version (formerly called ‘touring’) uses the standard CAT5E-F 6.2mm diameter flexible cable, with colour coded and numbered individual jackets. The overall jacket has a tough layer of PUR (polyurethane) for abrasion resistance. Canford uses PUR on many cable designs to provide excellent wearing characteristics in the harsher environment of outside broadcast and touring applications

31-888

The flexible version (formerly called ‘studio’) has a design optimised to give the best possible flexibility, and uses the CAT5E-F-M 5.8mm diameter cable, with colour coded and numbered individual jackets. The overall jacket is soft PVC for optimum flexibility. 31-894

CANFORD CATKIT ETHERCON STAGEBOX SYSTEM This range of robust stage boxes, patch boxes and super-flexible, rugged, multicore cables is designed to withstand the rigours of life on the road. Available in four-way or eight-way configurations with standard RJ45compatible etherCON connectors, they offer a solution to deploying multiple Cat5E equivalent cables in demanding environments, including television outside broadcast and live-performance rigs. Stage boxes are fitted with captive multicore cables in various lengths, with etherCON break-out tails, Multicore cables have etherCON break-out tails at each end, patch boxes provide back-to back etherCON connectivity and breakout to standard RJ45 Cat5E patchcords.

38-8170

CANFORD CAT5E-F CATEGORY 5E DATA CABLE Stranded conductor, screened - Deployable Increasing use of network and data cables between audio and video devices on location calls for a Category 5E cable that is designed specifically for deployable use. Basic Category 5E F/UTP is a relatively inflexible installation cable, and even the slightly more flexible patchcord type still has very poor handling characteristics. This Category 5E cable has been designed specifically for the professional audio and video user, and is intended to handle like a typical microphone cable.

31-850

CANFORD CAT5E-F-M CATEGORY 5E DATA CABLE Stranded conductor - Miniature, Flexible A reduced size version of Canford CAT5E-F, designed specifically for installations where a very flexible screened Category 5E cable is required. The core construction and jacket material is identical to CAT5E-F; the difference is only in the jacket thickness. Because of the reduced jacket wall thickness, this cable is not recommended for deployable applications. Ideal solution for internal rack wiring.

AUDIO CABLES CANFORD FST Foil Screened Stranded Conductor Twin Cable Standard, Low Fire Hazard and Flexible type - This D’n’A series (Digital and Analogue) cable is designed to be suitable for both digital and analogue audio signals, with an impedance of 100 ohms which has been proven to be suitable for AES/EBU digital audio as well as analogue microphone and line level signals. Wire insulation is polypropylene, which shrinks back minimally during soldering (considerably less than PVC or polyethylene).

31-001 FST 31-280 FST-F 31-059 FST-LFH

Standard -The overall PVC jacket is bonded to the screen tape on application so that one stripping action removes jacket and screen, leaving the signal wires and earth wire free for further processing. It is not necessary to have to unwind tape screen after jacket stripping nor is it necessary to become involved in the unravelling of braided copper screens. FST-LFH Low Fire Hazard - FST-LFH is technically identical to standard FST, except that the PVC jacket is replaced by an LFH material. Wiring specifications for many public buildings now call for LFH cables to be used in certain areas, notably in corridors etc. Under combustion circumstances, LFH cables have a significantly reduced smoke emission, and the gaseous products contain no toxic halogens. FST-F Flexible -This cable is constructed in a similar way to the easy-strip FST, but has changes to improve the flexibility. The insulation has a slightly reduced wall thickness, and a significantly longer lay length of the twist than FST, giving a single, long length strip. The overall jacket is a soft PVC with semi-matt finish, and overall diameter is slightly less the FST.

CANFORD FST-DMX-LFH Foil Screened Stranded Conductor Twin Cable - For DMX512 Data - Low Fire Hazard Foil screened, 120 ohm installation cable, specifically for DMX512 lighting-control applications, designed to meet RS485 data cable specification. Available in one and two pair versions. Wire insulation is polypropylene which shrinks back minimally during soldering (considerably less than PVC or polyethylene). The overall jacket is bonded to the screen tape so that one stripping action removes jacket and screen, leaving the signal wires and earth wire free for further processing. LFH cables have a significantly reduced smoke emission, and the gaseous products contain no toxic halogens.

The top half of the box has an upper lip, which rests on or flush with the floor surface. It is finished in grey stove-enamel with grey moulded plastic lip. The bottom section has 49-681 adjustable flanges for bottom fixing below the floor surface (removable if not required) plus 20mm knockouts, and is divided into three compartments. Mounting holes are also provided in the bottom face. The bottom section can be installed during building works (including in cast concrete floors), the top section screws in later, and has height adjustment of up to 18mm with set screws for levelling. The lid is hinged along the long edge, and is in itself a shallow tray – designed to allow a piece of carpet or wood trim (approx 5mm thick) to be inserted so as to match the lid to the remainder of the floor. Two moulded flaps are incorporated in the edge opposite to the hinge, which can either be locked shut when the box is not in use, or open to allow cables to enter. In this position they are locked so cannot partly close and trap the cables. Usable aperture with lid fully closed 12mm x 43mm per flap.

PROTOTYPE CANFORD HINGED SWING FRAME Following feedback from our touring customers we’ve developed a 19’’ swing frame available in 6U-18U that can be retrofitted into a standard 19’’ flight case or rack. It has hinges on one side and slam locks on the other. This allows for easy access to the rear of the panels and cables which is especially beneficial when the access to the rear of the rack or flightcase is restricted.
