AUDIO COMMUNICATIONS AND AV SOLUTIONS JUNE 2018 | canford.co.uk
INTRO EXCITING TIMES IN THE WORLD OF WIRED AND WIRELESS INTERCOM The word is out and there is a real buzz going around about the multi-award winning Green-GO digital intercom over Ethernet, distributed exclusively in the UK and Ireland by Canford. This ground breaking intercom does away with the costly traditional central matrix by storing all routing and setup information within each outstation. Complex comms configurations can be readily designed off-site using the Green-GO control software ready to upload when required. Green-GO intercom will operate on virtually any 100Mbit/s data network and will co-exist with other data protocols including DMX and Dante. The system is expandable from 2 users to over 3000, just by adding outstations to the network. To complete the range, the new DECT wireless system offers high quality, low latency audio with robust RF coverage and roaming. For the many intercom users who need just two or four intercom channels, Tecpro analogue intercom remains the most cost effective way of acquiring pristine audio communications combined with extremely high reliability at an affordable price. System features include ‘show relay’, ‘remote mic kill’, ‘paging’ to external PA and four channel operation (on selected devices).

LUSEM OXLINX ACTIVE OPTICAL HDMI 1.4, DVI - Deployable The ‘OxLinx’ series of active, optical HDMI cables are intended for applications where a longer cable-run length is required than can be obtained with standard copper HDMI cables and are also useful where the cable needs to pass through environments with high electrical interference. They take power from the HDMI connection on the send and receive devices. Designed for rental and stage use, applications can include professional AV systems interconnection and indoor and outdoor digital signage and kiosks as well as home theatre systems in larger buildings. To enable HDMI 1.4 the plug on HDMI type A adapters require external USB powering. 38-8784
LUSEM OXLINX ACTIVE OPTICAL HDMI 2.0 - Deployable Lusem ‘OxLinx’ series of active, optical, HDMI 2.0 cables are intended for applications where longer cable-run lengths are required than can be obtained with standard copper HDMI cables. They are also useful where the cable needs to pass through environments with high electrical interference and offer a considerably more elegant and cost-effective solution for long cable runs than Cat5E cable with converter box systems. Designed for rental and stage use, applications can include professional AV systems interconnection and indoor and outdoor digital signage and kiosks as well as home theatre systems in larger houses. To enable HDMI 2.0, the plug on HDMI type A adapters may require external USB powering for certain equipment.

CABLE CANFORD CAT5E-F-J CATEGORY 5E DATA CABLE Stranded conductor, screened - Multi-circuit, flexible and heavy duty grades Multi-circuit deployable Cat5E cables, for both studio and touring/OB applications, based on Canford’s CAT5E-F screened flexible cable. The heavy duty version (formerly called ‘touring’) uses the standard CAT5E-F 6.2mm diameter flexible cable, with colour coded and numbered individual jackets. The overall jacket has a tough layer of PUR (polyurethane) for abrasion resistance. Canford uses PUR on many cable designs to provide excellent wearing characteristics in the harsher environment of outside broadcast and touring applications
The flexible version (formerly called ‘studio’) has a design optimised to give the best possible flexibility, and uses the CAT5E-F-M 5.8mm diameter cable, with colour coded and numbered individual jackets. The overall jacket is soft PVC for optimum flexibility. It is suitable for use with both standard RJ45 connectors (round entry version), the Neutrik etherCON and most other ruggedised RJ45 designs, or any other connector with a suitably sized entry gland.
CANFORD CAT5E-F CATEGORY 5E DATA CABLE Stranded conductor, screened - Deployable Increasing use of network and data cables between audio and video devices on location calls for a Category 5E cable that is designed specifically for deployable use. Basic Category 5E F/UTP is a relatively inflexible installation cable, and even the slightly more flexible patchcord type still has very poor handling characteristics. This Category 5E cable has been designed specifically for the professional audio and video user, and is intended to handle like a typical microphone cable. It has an extra-flexible four-pair core structure, that maintains Category 5E performance, a foil screen, then a special soft PVC composite material outer jacket, to give superb flexibility and handling characteristics. It is available in a variety of colours, plus a special “metallic silver” (nonconducting!) version specifically for “high tech” in-vision applications. It is suitable for use with both standard RJ45 connectors (round entry version), the Neutrik etherCON and most other ruggedised RJ45 designs, or any other connector with a suitably sized entry gland. The cable is also suitable for DMX512 applications.

CANFORD CAT5E-F-M CATEGORY 5E DATA CABLE Stranded conductor - Miniature, Flexible A reduced size version of Canford CAT5E-F, designed specifically for installations where a very flexible screened Category 5E cable is required. The core construction and jacket material is identical to CAT5E-F; the difference is only in the jacket thickness. Because of the reduced jacket wall thickness, this cable is not recommended for deployable applications. 31-860
Ideal solution for internal rack wiring.

CANFORD CAT 6 F DEPLOYABLE Data Stranded Conductor UTP Cable
31-870 Increasing use of network and data cables between audio and video devices on location calls for a Category 6 cable that is designed specifically for deployable use. Basic Category 6 UTP is a relatively inflexible installation cable, and even the slightly more flexible patchcord type still has very poor handling characteristics in deployed (as opposed to patching) applications. This Category 6 cable has been designed specifically for the professional audio and video user, and is intended to handle like a typical microphone cable. It has an extra-flexible four-pair core structure that maintains Category 6 performance, then a special soft PVC composite material outer jacket, to give superb flexibility and handling characteristics.
NEW CANFORD CAT7-F DEPLOYABLE A polyurethane jacketed, flexible, CAT7 cable for multimedia applications. With four individual shielded twisted pairs and more twists per meter, CAT7-F is Updating the standard for Greater bandwidth, data rates and transmission distances than its predecessors
CANFORD FST-DMX-LFH Foil Screened Stranded Conductor Twin Cable - For Dmx512 Data - Low Fire Hazard Foil screened, 120 ohm, single-pair installation cable, specifically for DMX512 lighting-control applications, designed to meet RS485 data cable specification. Wire insulation is polypropylene, which shrinks back minimally during soldering (considerably less than PVC or polyethylene). The overall jacket is bonded to the screen tape so that one stripping action removes jacket and screen, leaving the signal wires and earth wire free for further processing. Wiring specifications for many public buildings call for LFH cables to be used in certain areas, notably in corridors etc. Under combustion circumstances, LFH cables have a 31-052 significantly reduced smoke emission, and the gaseous products contain no toxic halogens.
CANFORD FST-LFH Foil Screened Stranded Conductor Twin Cable - Low Fire Hazard This D’n’A series (Digital and Analogue) cable is designed to be suitable for both digital and 31-059 analogue audio signals, with an impedance of 100 ohms which has been proven to be suitable for AES/EBU digital audio as well as analogue microphone and line level signals. Wire insulation is polypropylene, which shrinks back minimally during soldering (considerably less than PVC or polyethylene). Wiring specifications for many public buildings now call for LFH cables to be used in certain areas, notably in corridors etc. Under combustion circumstances, LFH cables have a significantly reduced smoke emission, and the gaseous products contain no toxic halogens.
