Quan l’anglès i l’art es donen la mà

El passat mes de novembre el departament d’anglès va organitzar una visita a la galeria d’art Etesian, un espai obert a la creativitat al cor de Ciutadella. Na Bettina Calderazzo, directora creativa i fundadora d’Etesian, va guiar als nostres alumnes a través de les obres dels diversos artistes en exposició i ens va parlar del seu projecte i com la vida la va portar a Menorca per complir un dels seus somnis. Tot això en anglès, d’una manera molt dinàmica i entenedora que va captivar tant a alumnes com professors.

Last month I visited the art gallery Etesian. This art gallery is situated in the historic center of Ciutadella, near the market and restaurants. It was a wonderful experience. I went there because it was my house and I was curious to visit it.

In the gallery you can find abstract and modern paintings from different artists. I liked them a lot, but the one I liked the most was a piece painted in pink colours that reminded me of the sunset on a windy day. It was painted by Catherine Ko Chen, an artist based in London.

Also, in the gallery there are some pottery objects, like dishes and bowls, painted in black and white. I think these are good objects to buy and put them on a shelf to decorate a modern living room. At the back of the gallery there are some modern posters elaborated with bright colours. These posters are painted by a local artist, Núria Marquès and they represent iconic elements from the island.

I recommend you visit Etesian, as I think you will enjoy it a lot. Also, I recommend you go for a walk around the historic center of Ciutadella to enjoy its fantastic buildings and views.

Im Restaurant

Kurz vor Weihnachten hat unser A1-Kurs gelernt, wie man auf Deutsch in einem Restaurant bestellt. Nachdem uns unsere Sprachassistentin Mirjam Eisenstädter typische Speisen aus Österreich und Deutschland vorgestellt hatte, haben wir selbst eine Speisekarte für unsere „Szene im Restaurant“ kreiert. Auch die Dialoge im Restaurant zwischen Gäste und Kellner / in wurden vorher geschrieben, im Unterricht eingeübt und zum Schluss als Szene im Restaurant repräsentiert. Dabei hatten wir viel Spaß.

Just abans de Nadal, el nivell A1 d’Alemany va aprendre com demanar en Alemany el menjar en un restaurant. Després d’haver conegut les típiques especialitats d’Àustria i Alemanyaamblalectorad’Alemany,naMirjamEisenstädter, vàrem crear la nostra pròpia carta per representar un restaurant.Tanmateix,vàremescriureelsdiàlegsentrecomensals i cambrer i vam assajar a classe per a, finalment, representarl’escenad’unrestaurant.
