tis my pleasure to extend warm greetings to attendees at this year's Cancer Society Ball. I am also delighted to congratulate the executive and Members ofThe Cancer Society ofThe Bahamas.
The Cancer Society of The Bahamas is a registered non-profit organization established in 1976. The Cancer Society focuses on three key care areas: Cancer Patient Care, Health Awareness, and Cancer Prevention. I am pleased that the Cancer Society continues to remain committed to its mission that being Cancer awareness, Education, prevention, research, advocacy, care and cure.
I am encouraged by your work in our nine family Island branches, namely, Abaco, Central Andros, South Andros, North Andros, Cat Island, San Salvador, Eleuthera, Exuma and Grand Bahama.
The Cancer Ball is not only a special event on the Bahamian social calendar, but equally important, it affords us the opportunity to demonstrate our support and appreciation to the Cancer Society.
I wish to thank The Bahamas Cancer Society for the extraordinary work to bring comfort and relief to scores of Bahamians and residents diagnosed with cancer. The outstanding care and attention given to relatives and friends of those so affected cannot be ignored.
Our communities are the better off for your invaluable contributions. I commend the organizers of the Grand Ball and trust that all patrons enjoy themselves. By extension, I thank all persons on this evening's program as well as those behind the scenes who work quietly to ensure its success.
