Dear Members,
Welcome to the Autumn edition of our Members Magazine! As the cooler Canberra months set in, we have an exciting calendar of events and promotions ahead.
We’re celebrating our biggest reward year yet, kicking off with 3 Cars in 3 Months—win a Toyota Yaris Cross at Tuggeranong, Jamison, or Woden in April, May, and June.
Easter is just around the corner, with delicious seafood platters and an eggciting Easter hunt planned. Spend the long weekend enjoying great food and fun for the entire family.
Kids’ Month returns in April, packed with fun activities, and we have special celebrations for Mother’s Day in May. Being a family Club, it always gives me great pleasure to see so many families utilising all our venues. I have very fond memories of having dinner in the Golden Grille with my family back in the 80s, when my father worked on the door!
Tuggeranong stage two is in full swing, with our refurbishment progressing well, ‘Southbound’, a state-of-theart sports bar, parrilla grill and an all-electric kitchen is set to open by mid-July. I can’t wait to invite you all to see your new Club.
Our Health and Wellness team has fantastic offers coming up, including 4 weeks free at Stellar Learn to Swim and $1 per week for 5 weeks at Anytime Fitness.
And I can’t forget the highlight of our calendar is the 10th annual Chefs Signature Dinner on 16 May—an evening of exceptional food, wine, and entertainment.
As usual, there is a great line up of shows and themed dinners over the coming months, which are sure to tantalise all tastebuds, you can read about all we have on offer in the following pages and book in venue, over the phone or online at cscc.com.au
From all the team at the Canberra Southern Cross Club, we hope 2025 brings health and happiness to our members and our community. We look forward to seeing you around your venues.

At Southbound, we will proudly feature a Parrilla Grill (pronounced pah-rreeshah), this traditional Argentinian cooking style involves grilling meat over hot coals, infusing it with a unique smoky flavour and a perfectly charred exterior. Our Parrilla chef, Juan, will use dryaged, high-quality cuts and traditional seasonings to bring this time-honoured technique to life.

Meet Corena Harrison
Corena Harrison is a para sport athlete who has represented Australia in Boccia. 3 years ago, she was ranked number 8 in the world.
Corena’s dream is to make the paralympics and she has now started preparations to represent Australia in Archery with a goal of reaching the LA Paralympics in 2028.
The Canberra Southern Cross Club and Stellar Canberra are proud to support Corena in her goals. After changes to her NDIS funding made accessing her previous gym difficult the Club stepped in to offer a 12-month free membership.
Good luck, Corena!
Shanel Wood: Running for a Cause
Shanel Wood, our Sales Manager at Stellar Canberra, is running the Canberra Times Half Marathon in April, driven by her passion for health, fitness, and pushing herself to her limits — both physically and mentally.
This event raises money for the Children’s Cancer Institute, Australia’s only medical research organisation dedicated solely to curing childhood cancer. Exercise has always been a significant part of Shanel’s life, helping her become stronger and more resilient. For her, taking on this challenge is not just about crossing the finish line, but about making a difference for children facing one of the toughest battles of all.

Ylaria Rogers: Inspiring Movement and Community Through Group Exercise at Stellar Canberra
Can you tell us about your role as a Group Exercise Instructor and what you love most about it?
When I moved from Personal Training to Group Exercise, I fell in love with the community. I love teaching Rhythm and Flexibility. I believe finding the way that speaks to your body, music that moves your soul, and an instructor who inspires you makes all the difference.
What makes Group Exercise such a powerful way to stay active and healthy?
Movement is not about ‘getting it right’, it is about connecting with the beat and letting your heart follow the music. Group Exercise is powerful because it brings people together to engage both heart and mind.
What success stories have you seen from members attending Group Exercise classes at Stellar Canberra?
When a member smiles and says, “I needed that,” I know we have succeeded. It is about finding moments to relax, express, move, or reconnect with strength.
