Fraser Valley CVAA Learning Event The Fraser Valley CVAA Chapter held a full day CVAA Learning Event (CLE) on May 15, 2018. There were great sessions presented on Peripheral IVs and Extravasation, PIV Data Collection Project in Fraser Health, CVAD Associated Skin Impairment, Vascular Tip Position: Why the CAJ?, CVC Occlusion Management, and many more. New CVAA Chapter We are thrilled to announce a new CVAA chapter in New Brunswick! There is great interest for vascular access and infusion therapy education and events in the region and we are pleased that some dedicated CVAA members are working to start a chapter here. They held their first event on June 5, 2018.

5th World Congress of Vascular Access Conference (WoCoVA), Copenhagen, Denmark Dear colleagues, The 5th World Congress of Vascular access conference (WoCoVA) was held in Copenhagen, Denmark this year, where international vascular access experts shared results of research, innovation and expertise in the practice of vascular access and patient safety. There were 857 attendees (8 Canadians) and 51 different countries!

The theme this year was “patients first” and the scientific lectures were presented with a patient focused lens.

Up to date educational courses were offered in PICC insertion and PICC instruction, a variety of poster presentations, oral and video presentations and hands on workshops.
