With more than 40 years representing the parking industry in Canada, the CPA was founded in 1983 by members of the industry with the primary goal to bring together interested parties to form a cohesive national voice for the parking industry in Canada, evolving to become a critical partner with mobility, transportation and the communities we serve.

Since that time, the CPA has grown to a membership base of more than 650 professionals from across the country and from various sectors to form an association rich with informed and experienced people that drive the evolution of the parking and mobility industries in Canada.

THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE & TRADE SHOW

Attendees experience industry innovation, technology and trends which are showcased both on the trade show floor and during presentations in the educational component. Delegates who attend are known to be the decision makers of their organizations. The result is a positive ROI for vendors, many who will attest to the quality of business conducted at the CPA event over others. A final celebration and tour of innovative parking and mobility installations wrap up the event.

The Parking Operations Primer (POP) is a training program designed for Parking organizations to assist with orienting new frontline staff and supervisors to the fundamentals of a parking operation.

Cashiers, attendants, compliance officers, valets, and other frontline parking staff will gain a fundamental understanding of how a parking organization works and how their job fits into the big picture by studying various topics.

The Parking Management Certification program (PMC) addresses the training needs of management teams and front-line supervisors who oversee parking operations.

This program sets performance and service standards at the point where the parking operation, technology, mobility, and the customer meet. The PMC credential is the standard by which performance can be measured.

Parking Industry Credential

The Canadian Parking Association, as the national authority for the industry in Canada, has the authority to grant or rescind the use of the professional designation of Parking Management Certification “PMC” to candidates who successfully complete the program.
